8/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageI used to love Thoa school. But bullying has gotten out of hand. My son was being verbally bullied. Yes, he threw the kids food out of his hands because he was being really disrespectful. So the kids punches my child twice in the face. They blame my kid. Don't hold the other child accountable. And thats it. Nada. No accountability, no discipline. Im ok with that. We will be transferring schools next year. This school has lost its class and has turned trashy with the people. And their teachers flip a lot. Or they never have enough in one grade so one teacher is struggling. Don't do it. There's pond springs and jollyville right down the street.Parent Review4w ago13 Reviews - Deerpark Middle School

"A solid, unpretentious neighborhood where people genuinely look out for each other. It feels safe enough that early morning solo runs before sunrise are no big deal, and you’ll often cross paths with neighbors walking their dogs. Kids play outside, which says a lot about a place. It’s quiet and green, with mature trees that give it a settled, established feel. For all that calm, you’re still just minutes from downtown Austin and the shops and restaurants at Mueller. Commuters will appreciate the easy access to major freeways — it’s one of those rare spots where you get peaceful streets without sacrificing convenience. I’ve lived here for 9 years."

"Neighbors actually look out for each other - the kind of place where someone sets out seeds and dried plants for anyone who wants them. Kids play outside, and people say hello when they pass. It’s a good spot to call home."

"A close to key conveniences- grocery, pharmacy , clothes shopping , library. etc. Good walking but no dry cleaner, bank etc. Quality Public transportation is lacking . This is not a real traditional large city . It is a sunbelt city grafted in to an older smaller community ."

"This neighborhood is not near public transportation. During peak hours, 7:30am-9am and 3:45-6:30 it can take 45-50 minutes to get downtown. It’s just 20 minutes when traffic is flowing. "

"Super close to the freeway and honestly tucked away so hardly any traffic ever and I love it and would definitely recommend the area. The only downside is is sometimes the homeless population gets a little out of control and can be quite aggressive. They also dumpster dive very frequently, but for the most part, they are really nice and respectful."

"Food truck really close walkable distance to anything and everything. Friendly neighborhood. I’ve met half the people on my block. A lot of people walk their dogs. It’s a family friendly neighborhood. I see the neighbors walking with their children and their families are comfortable visiting them here in this neighborhood. I feel safe in this neighborhood. It’s a quiet neighborhood. There’s the capital Metro rail and it’s not loud. It’s Neighbourhood friendly. I recently had a tree farm in my yard and someone visiting a neighbor on my block, called the police department for me and notified me right away during the storm."
