  • Adriana
"A solid, unpretentious neighborhood where people genuinely look out for each other. It feels safe enough that early morning solo runs before sunrise are no big deal, and youโ€™ll often cross paths with neighbors walking their dogs. Kids play outside, which says a lot about a place. Itโ€™s quiet and green, with mature trees that give it a settled, established feel. For all that calm, youโ€™re still just minutes from downtown Austin and the shops and restaurants at Mueller. Commuters will appreciate the easy access to major freeways โ€” itโ€™s one of those rare spots where you get peaceful streets without sacrificing convenience. Iโ€™ve lived here for 9 years."
  • Trulia User
"Neighbors actually look out for each other - the kind of place where someone sets out seeds and dried plants for anyone who wants them. Kids play outside, and people say hello when they pass. Itโ€™s a good spot to call home."
  • Trulia User
"people walking dogs at all times of the day everyone is friendly and are generally respectful of each other and their boundaries when walking... that's all I have to say but I need to hit the character minimum"
  • Mariosgirlever
"Itโ€™s a great place to live itโ€™s very friendly you are also allowed to have pets plus their is a trail to walk"
  • Kjam7360
"I have lived here over 45 years and love itโ€™ people are nice and respectful. No trouble in the neighborhood."
  • Molly K.
"This area has really friendly people who look out for one another. The area is changing so you will likely experience a few neighbors moving in and out over the years. Itโ€™s a solid investment to buy here considering it is pretty central, especially as Austin grows and expands. "
  • calculon
"The neighborhood is safe but the schools are not good. It's a very short walk to a major bus hub, and on a route that takes you by the county hospital, which is great for getting around town when you are without a car. There's some section 8 housing in the neighborhood, but there's no violent crime in the 15 years I've lived in the neighborhood and it's slowly revitalizing. It's a fast 10 minute drive to downtown Austin, and the last affordable neighborhood in the city. I like that there are retirees who've lived in their homes since they were built in the early 60s, and there's a community "neighborhood" feel."
