7/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageDepending on the teacher you get, some are amazing and really prioritize the kids. Others flat out don’t. If you are able to, ask who is the recommended teacher for the desired grade level and try to request them. Certain staff will not do anything or even see any wrong doing of the teachers if you bring it to their attention. 6/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageBEST school ever. We transferred our kinder from Westside (TOO big) to Rancho this year (2012-13) and it was the best decision we ever made. The school (small at 300+) is so well thought-out in design, but the the teachers, staff and principal make it simply amazing. They greatly encourage parental involvement, and are a marvel to witness with the children. It seems as if every person who is employed there is 100% thrilled to be there and all seem to LOVE what they are doing...which makes a tremendous difference to the children. My kinder is 'back to normal' by way of being (once again) confident, independent, and is learning FAR more than we could have dreamed. In the KG grades, homework is NOT a huge focus (as it is at Westside w/over 20+pages of homework a WEEK), but flashcards, decodable readers and little projects are the norm. It has been an absolute JOY to us, as parents, to have had our child attend this incredible school. I would HIGHLY recommend it over all others! The principal knows every single child's name in his school...no joke. The calm, serene, comfortable environment seems to be highly conducive to learning...something other schools should absolutely model. :)Parent Review13y ago1 Reviews - Angleton Junior High School

5/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageAs a parent of 3, all of qgich attend this school, it is horrible. The administration does not communicate with each other. The principal is too busy to speak to parents. Bullying behavior is not discouraged. Emotional support is a challenge. My children, all, deteriorated hete. I have advocated for them and kept a paper trail of their negligence. After threatening with action, is when I saw some effort in being proactive. You gotta be involved and on their backs for them to actually do something. Overall, you're better off homeschooling if no other is an option.Parent Review1mo ago3 Reviews - Check out schools near 1006 Anchor Rd.

"Since I moved to Angleton 15 years ago it has grown on me and Angleton it self has grown. During the summer we have free Outdoor Concert Fridays, Market Days with over 200 vendors, County Fair in October with a huge parade, Christmas on the Square. Several new subdivisions have or being built. We have a beautiful brand new high school, stadium and baseball fields that includes a walking trail, and playground. We have two other nice parks as well. About 15 minutes south is Lake Jackson which has a Mall & theatre, many restaurants and Brazosport Community College. Angleton is a clean place with friendly people. "

"close to 288. 10 minutes from lake Jackson. 20 minutes from Pearland. 30 minutes from sugaeland and 40 minutes from Houston. lake Jackson is growing so there is stuff to do there if you hate Houston traffic. it is also close to the plants but not so close that you can see it from your back yard. the schools are good, especially the elementary schools. "Do not let kids wonder the neighborhood unsupervised. There is traffic that flows through at 30mph. And you really don’t know who everyone that may be walking their dog or going for a jog. Most likely they don’t reside in the neighborhood. I’ve only seen a handful of people that actually live here walk the sidewalks. "
