3/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageThis year there is a rule requiring clear backpacks, and I did bring one—but it broke. I only have 2 months left before I graduate, so why should I have to buy a new one? I don’t even have anyone to help me get one. When I brought my bag to school, both the AP and the AP secretary saw it and didn’t say anything. Even during random classroom checks, no one said anything. But suddenly today, during a random bus backpack check, they said my bag was too big. What is going on?And then they told me that at the end of the day (around 2:35–3:00 PM), a parent has to come pick it up. Sorry, but not everyone has that kind of free time.Student Review1mo ago10 Reviews - Hastings High School

4/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageAlief Taylor = Crowded. The students will carry you to your next class. Just not in five minutes. Staff: great staff members, probably the best. Teachers: easygoing and friendly, can be unorganized sometimes. Classes: Non-intensive work. Not easy to find rooms Sports: very well done Students: student body (can) be obnoxious and misbehaved Lunch: Not well suited for highschool level. Conclusion: ok school with little to no gang violence. Sometimes you feel like your not in the right grade. Needs more seniors in the classroom. Lunch needs to be upgraded for highschool students. Better and more organized. Variety of food, and costly choices needs to be provided.Other Review11y ago1 Reviews - Alief Early College High School

9/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageThis school is generally very good, although there are some teachers (1-2) that don't support students well when asking for help-- the opposite of the environment a teacher should create.Student Review10mo ago13 Reviews - Check out schools near 9901 Sharpcrest St.

"The community gets to enjoy food drives. They have enrichment programs for tenants who wish to participate. They have other drives that keep the community in the loop. "

"They would like it. People are able to walk their dogs in the various parks or surrounding communities in which they live. The dogs seem happy and the owner satisfied that they have the space to run and play with their pet. In some gated communities there are special dog parks for residents of that community."

"The neighborhood is very diverse. You have you Hispanics, Asians, etc. Because you are in a diverse area there are many different types of cuisine. The schools aren’t the best but you are in hisd so you apply for any hisd school. The parks are kept up with well and many families enjoy them. I like that you are a bout a 15 min commute from downtown and a 10 min commute from the galleria."

"Dog owners would like that most people in the area are pet owners as well. Although, depending on the situation they would mind that sometimes you have dogs just barking for no reason in the middle of the night."

"I have about 5 dogs, my biggest pet peeve is living your dog out without a leash, they usually trigger my dogs by barking at them. I also don’t like is that they leave their dogs outside their patio in the summer/ winter, they get dehydrated just like we do but 10x more worst."
