About this House

Beautiful 1940’s brick and cedar traditional in one of NW Gresham’s most charming neighborhoods. Spacious living, dining, primary, secondary, and bonus rooms on the main, with an additional bedroom upstairs. Presidential roof installed in 2009, energy efficient (thermal) heating system installed in 2018, and modern solar installed in 2023. Open floor plan with hardwoods, period correct built-ins, large windows, picture rail, and three fireplaces. Stylish kitchen with butcher block counters and original cabinetry, plus an auxiliary kitchenette, family room, cedar sauna, tiki bar, and additional flex space on the basement level provide the potential for multi-generational living. Each floor also has its own full bathroom, with the main floor showcasing original art deco tile and vintage fixtures. Main floor sunroom is the ultimate fun room, with heated floors and French doors that lead to a covered patio; perfectly suited for dining alfresco! Large (.24 acre) corner lot with recently installed metal fencing and gates includes various zones for gardening and other zen activities. Abundant wildlife and an endless sea of birds in the area. Tidy, well-sorted garage provides generous storage, or simply another enjoyable space in which to spend time. And finally, this home’s location offers a private and tucked-away feel, without the downside of new construction affecting the classic neighborhood vibe! Easy access to walking trails, parks, shopping, dining, commerce, the new library, and proximity to some of the most scenic destinations the Pacific Northwest has to offer; such as Mt. Hood & the Columbia River Gorge. Truly a fine example of mid-century architecture with interesting designer flourishes.

"My work is close to my house and it takes less than 10 mins to get to 162nd from my house. I don’t mind the commute at all "

"We have farmers markets. I think that brings the community together. They get to know there neighbors."
  • Clint H.
"We have lived here for 8 years and enjoy the neighborhood and it’s in close proximity to shopping and services. Property values hold up well in down turns and has stable long term residences with well kept homes. "
  • Sarah_tamay
"Homelessness is a major issue now and car thefts just keep your security up to date and children in eyes reach. "
  • Sharmesha M.
"I’ve lived here for over 7 years... will be 8 years in June. All the little kids from my block are all know either graduating from high school or in their freshman year at MHCC (Mt Hood Community College) "
  • Sharmesha M.
"It’s quiet and I love the sounds of the frogs at night and the birds during the daytime. It’s still in the city but has a country/forest feel and only 45 mins from Mt. Hood"
  • zoom p.
"To be fair, we just moved in a month ago. However.... Regarding other complaints I've seen: We live on the side of the building that doesn't face the train tracks and it is quiet, quiet, quiet. I have taken baths and showers at all different times of day, and we've always had hot water. Our neighbors all seem really nice. Everyone smiles and says hello when they pass you in the hallway. It's cheery. It's also extremely inexpensive; it's the cheapest place that I've lived that wasn't trashy disaster. Now that that's out of the way: When we moved in to our BEAUTIFUL apartment, the things that we noted on our move-in sheet were all minor. After a day or two, I noticed that we had an ant issue. The manager (Jason the amazing) had someone out to take care of it within a day. And today, randomly, Jason-the-amazing-manager sent over the new maintenance guy (we'll call him Shane-the-Magnificent). He was here to go over all of the piddly little things that we'd noted on our move-in sheet. Things like: the microwave was missing a wheel on the tray that rotates inside - and - our bedroom door doesn't hang quite straight and so is difficult to shut - and - our towel racks were loose. There was a list of about 7 little things, none of which were any kind of huge deal that I'd normally contact Management about, and he fixed them all. Today. And left a cheerful note. I LOVE this place."
