5/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageIn my child's first Kindergarten class, she was bullied everyday from the first day of school by one child. This went on for months, she missed weeks of school because the administration would not handle the situation. She was eventually transferred to another classroom. My daughter missed picture day because we were not informed in a timely or clear manner. Now they're doing some fundraiser for the school, by a franchise type organization that takes 50 percent of the profits for themselves, offers no products and instead it's "pledges" for "running laps" and uses deceptive business practices; E.G. There are "poster prizes" with dollar amounts, but they fail to mention those prizes are given "by lap" and not by flat amount earned. They are also throwing out additional prizes at the last minute on a nightly or weekend basis, E.G. one class received a "donut party" for having the most participation in a single night, whereas "donut party" is also a top poster prize and is the equivalent of any other classroom raising $4800 on their own. (Although the poster only says $160 and fails to clarify $160/lap.) My daughter is bored, finishes her week of homework in a single sitting in about 40 minutes, so clearly is not being academically challenged and learning no valuable life skills. E.G. This fundraiser teaches children to beg for donations in exchange for effectively nothing, no physical product such as wrapping paper or chocolate bars. And then to have only 50 percent of that money even go to their school, for who knows what? Certainly not to improve the school. I am very thankful we will only be in this district for this school year! If you have the option to put your child in ANY OTHER SCHOOL, PLEASE RUN FROM HERE. I am very close to homeschooling her so that she will actually stay at her intellectual level and continue to advance and not be held back from achieving what she is capable of. If you are a parent that simply wants to dump your child somewhere as free daycare, and does not care if they are bullied regularly, enough to leave bruises and cause them to have nightmares -- This is the motherlode for you!Parent Review1y ago8 Reviews - Graham Kapowsin High School

"Have lived here for 5 years and love the small town community feel just outside of the big city. Schools and shopping are just up the street but not too close."

"I know of a neighborhood clean up but no special events held in our neighborhood. The schools often have fun events for kids to come and have fun which I think is awesome for the kids to come and see the different events being held. "

"Great. Meridian is smooth sailing. I leave work at 2 to get home by 5:30. Most days it takes me 2.5 hours to get home from Seattle. Traffic is horrible around here. But who can afford to live close to I-5"

"There are Coyotes in our neighborhood, some small pets have disappeared, we lost two dogs and two outdoor cats since we’ve lived here for 12+ years. The two dogs were killed by our neighbors dog, right after they moved in ? Pretty sure the Coyotes got our cats ?"

"There are none, with exception to some private parties if your invited ? We have met a few of our neighbors, by selling chicken and duck eggs to them. Our area isn’t perfect, we have a few spoiled brats and irresponsible people in our neighborhood, but, they eventually get caught by the pierce county sheriffs! "

"This area is exceptional for the acreage and homes. The homes were built in 1992 and remain top of the line construction. These homes were built as custom construction homes from Shur Brothers constructionSchools are excellent, lots of wildlife in the neighborhood. Close to schools, walking paths, restaurants and shopping, community involvement is HIGH over all Excellent condition. "
