Incredibly poor and low parent engagement. I’m highly disappointed. It’s such a drastic downfall coming from Wildwood to now OHA. Clear and blatant withholding of information from parents.

As a current student at Mahtomedi Middle School, I feel it’s important to be honest about my experience here. While the school is known for its academic reputation, there are significant issues that make it difficult for many students, especially when it comes to bullying and the lack of diversity.The school has a serious lack of representation, and students who are different—whether by background, culture, or personality—often feel isolated. This lack of diversity creates an environment where students who don’t fit into the dominant social groups can be left out or even targeted. Unfortunately, bullying is a real problem here, and it’s often overlooked by teachers and staff. There’s a lack of support for students who don’t feel like they belong, and it’s hard to find a place where everyone feels safe and respected.If you're looking for a school where your child will have a more inclusive, supportive environment with less social pressure, I would recommend considering private or charter schools. These types of schools tend to have smaller, more diverse communities where bullying and exclusion are taken more seriously.While Mahtomedi may have good academic programs, it’s not the best place for those who need a more welcoming and inclusive social environment. If you’re looking for a school where your child will feel seen, heard, and accepted, you may want to explore other options.

My children were well-prepared for college and attended highly rated colleges as a result. 2007 and 2010 graduates.

Welcoming, close knit school. Excellent teachers and responsive administration.
