I’m very unhappy with the teaching environment here so far as a student. There is a high level of racism from both teachers and other students. Many teachers seem indifferent toward these issues and do not address inappropriate comments or actions made by staff or students. I want change not silence.

Teachers don’t let the children bring books home, which is weird to me. How are we as parents supposed to help our children with missed assignments? I have been told on many occasions from my child he cannot bring his books home. So you as a parent might need to figure out what they use and buy your own. Teachers also don’t respond to emails, which is extremely frustrating especially if we as parents have something important that we may need to figure out. Don’t bother responding a week later, because it’s already too late.

While the updated school looks great on the outside it's not a pleasant experience for children who do not learn in traditional fashion. My son has learning disabilities & for 3 years I fought to get him help. Instead of offering any type of support the staff continued to label my child as a bad student & would call me weekly to pick him up because they couldn't handle him. He is now excelling at a different school that tested him & found help & resources to promote his learning. He finally is confident in his abilities & not once have I been called regarding his behavior in the last 2 years. He is a well behaved, bright individual. He always was but when Mallet staff were continually telling him different he believed it to be true. It's really a shame that a school can wreck a child's spirit like that.
