4/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageThis year is my sons 1st year of school. Ely has been an amazing experience. The principal is kind and works with the parents, there are weekly coffee meeting with the principal that is open to every and all parents. they have a program where dads are able to help out in the classes which has been a great thing for my son who is use to being with his dad all day. I am excited that my son is part of Ely.Parent Review2y ago4 Reviews - Elyria High School

3/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageThe Elyria City Schools offers a wide range of classes for general education as well as many Honors and AP options and dual enrollment classes. They have over 60 clubs that all students are welcome to join. Their band, drama, and other arts programs are second to none. They send children to the top universities in the country. There was a student a few years ago that was chosen to go to Sweden to work on the CERN Large Hadron Collider. He was one of only ten college students chosen throughout the country and he credits his Science teacher at Elyria High for sparking his interest in Physics. More than one student has come back to teach at Elyria High due to the influence of their teachers. There are an impressive number of students graduating with Top Honors and millions of dollars are awarded every year for scholarships. They have a 90% graduation rate which is practically unheard of in an urban district. If you want your child learning in a diverse environment with many opportunities and taught by an outstanding, highly qualified staff in a new state of the art building I would highly recommend Elyria High School.Parent Review9y ago6 Reviews - Northwood Middle School

5/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageThis has to be my most favorite school because 1.They talk to bullies and the victim of the bully. (After that I was no longer bullied the rest of the year!) 2.The staff ther are really nice, kind, and funny. 3.The staff helps you work at your own pace and try to help you understand. 4.They let you stay afterschool to get extra help on homework or anything else. 5.The principle is really kind and funny. 6.The office is open until somewhere around 5:15. 7.there is a Horizon Afterschool program with clubs and extra curricular help and homework time for 45 mins so you can do your homework. 8.There is 2-3 choices of lunch choices and 4-5 choices of Fruits/Veggies.Other Review11y ago3 Reviews - Check out schools near 966 Gulf Rd.

"I lived in Elyria since I was a kid. They have a lot of good programs for schools for kids to excel and graduate early and also graduate with college under their belt from high school like any place I need the community to pour back into it, but it has amazing potential."

"We've lived here for 32 years and seen children grow and leave so the neighborhood now is quiet. Everyone is very friendly and yes, people walk their dogs at night. The street is about 3 minutes to the community college and close to the highway to Cleveland, about 25 minutes away. We love our neighborhood so much we recently bought a ranch home up the street."
