5/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageProblematic place, but same as reflecting District (which has its own issues and Superintended being investigated). So... building reflects that double standard. Principal present that as well (and how many new Principals now? And Vice Principals... new one every year! Latest one left Olympia school "because wanted harder behavior to deal with”? And we have only seen a "burned out" behavior from the guy, as students report as well (another job well done!) Particulars stand out, such as, Bullying (and again rhetoric when mentioned but not addressed. Some student s have to do lunch in the nurse's room to be safe. So how good is "good" with such?). Never mind is a Federal law.8th grade special resources teacher yelling at students (she said because of news on her brother. What?) Unacceptable. Met good PE teachers. Music and art great! Overall climate and others concerning as is Admin. But then easier to leave than deal with a union, so staff and kids suffer. Well done you CMS!!!!!Parent Review1mo ago3 Reviews - Mark Morris High School

4/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageMy children have attended Northlake since they started going to school this last year.We decided not to have them attend school while COVID was a huge thing. This was a personal decision, and on the one hand, our children were met with real challenges in terms of "making up" for that lost time, which were a couple of years, both socially and academically. We chose Northlake because it was a relatively smaller school, and when we went to meet the administrators and some of the teachers, they all seemed to enjoy their jobs, and the school itself. We were not disappointed. Our children, who have had no "real" formal education, have flourished in Northlake. Our oldest needed some speical assistance, and was met with nothing but a "can-do" attitude. Since they have started public school, they have learned tons of practical skills and general knowledge. They have learned to read, and do mathematics, and while we assist them at home with these skills, it is their daily school experinces which have lent themselves to their flourishing. We couldnt be happier. There were also some issues with bullying and social awareness issues, like any school, and when we addressed the situation, we had nothing but consistent help from the educators and those in charge or recess or social engagements. While bullying is a serious concern for most parents, I will say that if there is an issue, if it's taken up with the school and the time is dedicated to remedying the situation with openness and working together, I believe it would be a seldom experience that the issue would not be remedied.Unfortunately, not exery child will have the same experiences, but I believe wholeheartedly that this is the best school for my children, and I would recommend Northlake to anyone. We have never met more diligent and heartfelt staff in our lives. We dont worry about our children attending this school, nor the possibility of them being ignored or left behind, regardless od their needs, be they special or not.We are incredibly grateful for everyone at Northlake, and we owe them far more than we could ever repay.Easily the best school we could think of, for our children attending. The caveat is our children enjoy their school, too. Nothing is worth more than that.Thank you, Northlake: all staff and administration.Parent Review3y ago8 Reviews - Check out schools near 964 8th Ave.

"I think dog owners would enjoy quiet morning walks, this neighborhood isn't too active early in the day and is pretty peaceful overall. I don't think dog owners would like that neighbors set off fireworks for about 2 weeks straight in July, and because of how close our houses are, the fireworks feel fairly close for such a populated area. "I’ve lived in this neighborhood for about seven and a half years and I am sad to be leaving. Lots of joyful noise in the spring, summer and fall...children outside playing, riding bikes and running through sprinklers."
