About this House

SPECIAL NOTE ON AVAILABILITY: This apartment has some further remodel work underway. If the apartment design really appeals to you, contact me to talk. I can arrange a holding deposit for whoever expresses interest first. Since I completed my remodel on this 4-Plex, all new renters have held the apartment they want in this way and I run a 0% vacancy rate. Due to how city planning has worked in Chico for many years, properties like this are very scarce. Dont miss out. This 1 story 4-Plex was originally built as an upscale property. After my custom makeover it has been brightened up and and made contemporary. Tasteful and modern choices in paint colors, accents, flooring, etc. make this property feel like youre coming home at the end of a work day. Take a look at the photos of the other apartments also as typical. Important notes to Apartment 1: This apartment is right on the side of W. East Ave, 45 MPH speed limit. If youre not a city person and/or HATE noise, not the best place. (Or lots of others on this road either.) HOWEVER, the way this 4-Plex was originally designed, Apt 1 is very unique and was almost like an owners unit. It has a functioning fireplace, much more storage everywhere, larger rooms, and 2 dedicated carport spaces. Further, the 1 story building design is such that if one closes a couple of interior doors to the guest bedroom and bathroom, the living room is highly more sound isolated from the other units than is normally possible in an apartment setting. If you like big multi-channel, home theater sound for action or sci-fi movies after a hard work week, you gotta see this place. Cant be had elsewhere unless you just plain rent a house. And this good on the inside? It would be twice the money. Holidays coming up. Big screen, great sound, turn the valve & and light the fireplace, barefoot in the thick carpet - the rest is up to you.Heres why you should come and look at this beautiful remodel:In the Kitchen and Dining Rooms:- 5 shelf pantry with louvered door across from the refrigerator- New upscale Whirlpool dishwasher with electronic control, heated wash, Sanitize rinse & delayed start cycles. Wash performance is much superior to a typical apartment-grade unit- New Whirlpool built-in microwave oven/range hood with dual-level cooktop light and dual-level, high volume kitchen exhaust fan (air goes out a rooftop vent)- New upscale GE Stove with a very attractive, instant heat, ceramic cooktop & self-cleaning oven (better oven insulation gives much more even baking). Refrigerator is made by GE.- Custom attractive solid-surface countertop with integrated sink installed by Ginnos of Chico- New Delta brand faucet in sink- New Mannington high-end vinyl plank flooring in a beautiful, textured, Vintage Oak color- New dining chandelier with gas lamp look & dimmer; high level light output (300 watts at maximum)- New low-energy glass sliding door with almond color frame- New Bali custom vertical blinds with curved, multicolor vanesIn the Living Room & Bedrooms:- Built-in hearth and fireplace with permanent install gas log set (natural gas) and wall control valve- Custom built-in, angled corner shelf for flat screen television placement (will hold up to approx 55" diagonal measurement)- Custom built-in wall mounts and pre-wiring for small rear channel home theater speakers- New Shaw multicolor carpet with extra thick, luxury, moisture barrier padding- New Mannington vinyl tile in entry; in color-coordinated, faux marble- New Monte Carlo 5 blade ceiling fan in Tuscan Bronze color with "tea-stained" lamp shade.- New oversize wall sconce in hallway- Oversize closet/storage in hallway- New forced air furnace with digital thermostat- New low energy windows with almond colored frames throughout- New Bali custom window blinds throughout- Bi-fold, louvered closet doors in bedroomsIn the Bathrooms:- New Delta brand faucets in sinks- New Delta brand upgrade, retrofit valves in shower/bathtub- New Mannington high end, multicolor, te

"15 minute drive at most to anywhere in Chico. Drivers are more laidback. However, traffic is at its highest around noon to 6. So you can expect 10 minutes extra in commute."
  • Larm1
"My sister has lived here since college. She is now 60. I’ve spent a fair bit of time in chico. It has grown by leaps and bounds - but maintained that small town feel"
  • Larm1
"People say hi and know each other’s name. The schools are good - from preschool to university. The businesses like to hire locals. "
  • Angie.slover
"Chico is located in a wonderfully central area. There is affordable housing and lots of community events. Still has the old-school small town feel. "
  • Mike H
"This area is great there is numerous a I I ties and waterways to be Abel to enjoy. The homeless use it for a bathroom and the city does little to curb the activity. This area used to be great but it hampered by crime and homelessness."
  • Trulia User
"It’s very peaceful a lot of the time! Sometimes there will be fireworks around holidays and weirdos speeding, but other than that, it’s nice"
  • Trulia User
"Area is very pet friendly. Lots of people walking their dogs but not too much foot traffic. Night walks not suggested because of low visibility and some high vehicle traffic by main roads"
  • Trulia User
"farmers market, riding bikes, concerts in the park. music is played in the middle of town during the summee"
  • Trulia User
"The people are amazing the community makes living there great. it feels like home. you don't have to lock your doors"
  • Trulia User
"Lots of people walk their dogs, very few pick up after them and most couldn’t care less about leash laws. It is quite unfortunate considering Chico is home to so many parks."
  • Pennymac0
"great mix of young families, retirees and large percentage of medical professionals. Neighbors tend to look out for each other."
  • Frankiekyahsilas
"Small town with big city feel. This city reminds me of my hometown. Most people are friendly. The food is amazing. "
  • Joann.bettencourt
"Block parties, pot lucks, tight knit community. Cul de sac where kids can run and play while parents socialize."
  • Bcso2340
"Chico is a safe and friendly town with many things to do. great schools and lots of outdoor space for kids to grow and be entertained"
  • Bcso2340

  • Morgan L.
"10 minute drive anywhere in town - 30 minutes to all neighboring towns, can pretty much ride bike or walk anywhere but homeless make doing that more and more dangerous "
  • Bree R.

  • Cynthia M. P.
"chico used to be great its kinda fallen apart though, but you can find locations that are really nice and you don't need to worry but there's also locations that are terrible and you don't want to live there "
  • Cynthia M. P. .
"its a great neighborhood. lately its been dangerous but that is throughout all of chico so no biggie. "
  • Amy M.
"We have witnessed some shady activity due to the nearby social services office building bringing a lot of poverty stricken people into the neighborhood and we have seen drug deals while driving around the neighborhood too. "
  • Priscilla A.
"Love this area. It’s nice and quiet. I feel safe to let my kids run around outside. Very nice that the freeway is just none the street. "
  • Yes M.
"Cars drive quickly through the neighborhood. So kids need to watch out. The neighborhood feels like the 50’s in how close ours neighbors our. There is a sense of community that it very hard to find. You could leave your front door unlocked and most likely no one would try to get in. It feels safe"
  • Paloma M.
"Very safe, I lived here and didn’t lock my door ever ! (Probably not something I should do but I did!) family friendly and college frequently. It’s very quiet and getting to see all the puppies here is so fun! "
  • Jennifer M.

  • Priscilla A.
"Homey neighborhood, lots of kids at play, park right down the street and a school as well 👌🏼 safe community"

  • Cjo_88
