  • Kagua59
"I am not a dog owner. But I see dog owners walking their dogs all around the neighborhoods and seem to love it. "
  • Kagua59
"In the summer, they have concerts in the park. They have reading session for kids in the local library. The residents are really friendly."
  • Stephenfoster282
"Easy, route 18 is a pain but the T is helpful for travel to the city. When the roads are completed travel should be fast and easy. "
  • Larylad
"the city is quiet, clean and quiet. I do not hear about violence in the area. the houses are well cared for. just think there are more shops "
  • Annmarie B.
"Great place to walk your dog, dog park coming. No sidewalks in my area, but low traffic and a nice way to meet your neighbors. "
  • Greg G.
"We live on the same street as Island Grove Park and many people come here to walk their dogs on the parks trails. "
  • Leeann C.
"Quaint little town with a brand new middle /high school. nice parks and CV immunity events throughout the year."
  • Mtowne002
"Quiet side street. Lovely walking loops. Lots of older trees, rock walls and friendly neighbors. Many songbirds. Second generation home owners common. Not very noisy"
  • Allan B.
"ive lived and worked here for awhile its a good town with good people and good schools next to no crime "
  • Andrewrobert5454
"I have lived in this neighborhood for over 20 years. Friendly community, convenient location with everything located in a short distance."
  • Sull69
"The Crime and trashy people make it very undesirable to live or visit. Taxes are high and services are low"
  • Armi_hazel12
"I dont have a car but am able to walk to most places that I'd need to go. Island Grove is beautiful and a fun place for the kids in the summer. "
  • Ajuckett
"Great community involvement, great neighbors, lots of things to do in not a far walk Good school system, great Chinese food "
  • Michael M.
"Compared to the surrounding towns (with the exception of Brockton) Abington is not a great place to live. some of the properties are priced ok, but some are priced off the chart and the rent is just crazy. it comes down to greed. the rent goes up an average of 7% a year which is twice the cost of living. I found trying to buy a house just as bad. The properties conditions just do not reflect the asking price. There are a lot of drugs going through Abington and the police seem uninterested in stopping it. The schools are some of the worst in the US. the high school is rated a 3 on a scale from 1-10 rated by the national system not by myself. but I can tell you my 13 yr old finds herself bored with school and easily gets A's and was on the honor roll all of 2013, but I had to help her make it fun and interesting and suggested she get a study partner to try and challenger her and her classmates and to tutor others that my not understand the work as well as she does to help give her a greater understanding of the work, not that she needed it. I don't know what the crime rate is listed at as far as the national average but I can tell you the drug dealers and drunks usually just bother and beat on each other but an innocent person gets caught up in the violence sometimes and the Abington Police Dept really seem to be doing as little as possible to make it to retirement. I should not blanket all of the police like this. there are 2 police officers I know that do seem to care, but there isn't that much they can do with little to no support. as far as nightlife there really isn't too many really good choices. There are a good number of average to below average places that could keep you busy, but keep your expectations low and you won't be disappointed. You can find some good choices nearby just not in Abington. I am looking to move out of Abington and Massachusetts next year, The cost of living here is too high. I can make the same money and keep more of it in other states"
