as a new student at blair, especially coming from a different country, has presented challenges, particularly regarding academic guidance. Although the initial welcome was appreciated, there was a noticeable gap in providing comprehensive information for students, especially those new to the American education system. This was particularly evident regarding course registration, summer class enrollment options, and understanding the significance of AP courses. It was difficult to understand how to choose courses for the upcoming year or the summer school enrollment process, which could have helped with getting ahead or reviewing concepts. Furthermore, the importance and selection process for AP classes were unclear without prior exposure to the US system. While proactive questioning is necessary, it's hard to ask about things whose existence or significance is unknown. A more structured orientation or easily accessible resources outlining these processes would greatly benefit new students, especially international students, in making informed decisions about their academic future.Beyond these areas for improvement, the school's vibrant atmosphere is truly enjoyable. The campus is pretty and spacious, which creates a pleasant and comfortable learning environment. The incredible diversity within the student body is a significant positive. This rich mix of backgrounds and cultures makes it easy to make new friends quickly, fostering a welcoming and inclusive community. This culturally enriched environment fosters adaptability and strengthens interpersonal skills, which are crucial for future success.

My son keeps getting bullied principals don't care

My daughter has attended Oak View for the last three years and we've had a great experience with the teachers and staff, but I have been a little disappointed to notice that student performance does seem to suffer some due to the significant number of children who speak English as a second language. On the other hand, the multi-ethnic mix at the school has been its own unique learning experience, and I know my daughter has benefited from being friends with kids from different backgrounds. In general, faculty and staff at the school are wonderful and know all the kids by name. Mrs. Salazar, the principal, is very hands-on, and it's obvious she enjoys the kids and they like her in return. The student body at Oak View is relatively small but class sizes are still large. My daughter's classes have consistently had around 25 kids each year, and I think the large classes make it hard to challenge the kids who are advanced. This year my daughter is in the GT program, and it has by far been her best year at Oak View. If the GT program is an option, I highly recommend it.

Eastern Middle School offers a somewhat unique experience, blending positive aspects with some significant drawbacks. The most glaring issue is the state of the building itself. It's desperately in need of a renovation. The cramped hallways make navigating between classes a daily struggle, and the poor air circulation is a constant discomfort. On the academic front, the humanities department shines. While some teachers may lack a bit of understanding at times, their dedication to student learning is undeniable. They push students to succeed and provide the support needed to grasp the material. The school's program is a definite highlight. It's engaging and enjoyable, although be prepared for a challenging transition.The overall atmosphere at Eastern is...okay. While the school has its share of fights and other typical middle school issues, there are bright spots. Dedicated teachers like Mr. Wilson, who teaches me, truly make a difference. His thoughtfulness and commitment to teaching every student, regardless of their background, is commendable. Even with occasional disruptions from classmates, I genuinely enjoy his TV studio class. It's this mix of challenges and positive influences that makes my experience at Eastern "interesting," to say the least. It's a school with potential, but it's held back by its aging facilities and some of the typical challenges that come with a diverse student body.
