We were enamored by the principal. He is a great recruiter. However when he's needed he's not around, unavailable, busy with other important things that bring up ratings for the school. My son has literally been bullied since day one on the bus. 3 students to a seat...that's unexceptable and unsafe, and then there's the bullies on the bus. These specific ones didn't even belong on this bus. My son tried to point them out in a book and they weren't even in it. If they can't control one bus, how can they control an entire School? That's the biggest joke yet. My son is now driven by another student. Sometimes they get there before the buses and still will be marked tardy and get detention for walking in the classroom 30 seconds past the clock instead of 30 minutes by bus. That's their policy. He feels like the teachers and staff are picking on him because he reported the bullies on the first day. The dress code doesn't get addressed unless you're wearing something stating your beliefs. Meaning you can waltz in wearing a swimsuit but you can't wear one promoting a constitutional right, promoting a politician, and if you have a shirt with a cookie on it you're a drug dealer. A school is meant for learning. This school teaches, you don't matter (unless you're an athlete), rules aren't really rules for everyone, just the ones trying to learn and avoid bullies, if you have an IEP teachers don't have to follow it unless you tell them in front of the class that you need something (making you a target to be made fun of). he's not allowed to talk to the principal he's too busy the school said. He can only talk to a Dean that has as much power as a trash can. Literally you can tell the Dean everything that happened and he can do nothing about it. A kid in gym tells my son how he wants to rape his mother. What's the point in reporting it he says, they aren't gonna do anything about it! You can't trust staff...Buses aren't safe... Mentally the school is not safe... I'm having a hard time finding a good reason to keep him in this school. I believe, if this happy upbeat principal, that is so good at recruiting and putting on a show, put just a portion of his energy into tending to the kids he currently has problems with, the school COULD end up being the school to uproot your family for, and move from 50 miles away to ensure your kid gets the best education they can. Right now I wish I lived 50 miles away from it. 3 more years of this....isn't happening.

Both of our kids have attended Chesak and experience through both have been great. The teachers and admin staff have been great. Every year our kids think their teacher is the best teacher they have had. They're skilled with pushing but not overburdening the students. Our daughter was able to get into advanced placement in her next school and hoping our son (in 1st grade now) will do the same. A big thank you to everyone at Chesak!!

We moved to our home for this district and the schools have not disappointed! Despite my children starting kinder during Covid (mostly remote and the following year with heavy restrictions) my children have had a wonderful experience. The teachers are kind, dedicated, and attentive. What I love most about campus style schooling, each school has dedicated special education, social workers, physical therapists, speech therapists, occupational therapists, gifted and special education classrooms, STEM, art, PE, music, band, orchestra.... While I wish we had orchestra before 5th and sports/after school activities (we do have chess and sign language) through the school, I am grateful for all the resources our school has for individual student needs. I cannot imagine trying to meet the needs of diverse learners in a smaller school, it's just incredible.

Our son went here and was the best experience he could have.
