Parks, trails and beautiful Lake. Hickory. Boating, fishing, swimming, water sports all around the lake. Friendly town and events and activities for all. "

    "It’s a very nice place to live. I’ve raised seven children in Hickory and all of them have turned out wonderful. I don’t remember the year, but Hickory was voted first and any city in the United States as the best place to raise your family."

I’m not from here and moved for a job. You just get trapped here. The job market is awful, housing is terrible, and it’s a very conservative area."
