I wouldn't say I won't recommend this school but it's not the best school that I would send my child to. Overall this school is an ok school. The teachers are somewhat great but mostly ok. The administrators in my opinion are better than the teachers. I have a close relationship with a couple of the administrators so that's good. However, tho, when it comes to bullying or any situation happening with students it does take a while for the staff to do something. not saying they won't do anything but it does take a while unless it's actually an emergency. Overall it's an ok school. I do like the academy that I'm in and I love my academy principle. They did lift the dress code a little but I feel like it should go back to the way it is because some people are starting to take advantage of it.

This school is not good in my opinion the staff is overbearing and are always on your case, the classrooms stink. The administrative staff members are unfair with punishments, they refuse to provide you with evidence that they say they have when you are in trouble, and they break student rights A LOT. DONT RECOMMEND

My son was choked by another student on his second day at Franklin square elementary. they called me and I came there immediately to pick him up. There were marks on his neck and they wouldn't take disciplinary action against the other student for weeks. t's been one year and my child states it took "hours " for him to be moved out of the classroom. That student had a history of hurting other children prior to this even.Months later I worked there as a para and saw from the inside how innefective they are at handling students behavior.When I started raising questions about their performance standards and making suggestions how to handle everything , I was taken into the principals office and dismissed for viewing "inappropriate content" on my school computer. I had viewed charlie kirks last speech and YouTube videos of " surahs" which ate Muslim prayers , I had viewed them not on school property and not on school hours , however, the principal showed me screenshots of my very PUBLIC social media pages including a dead YouTube playlist that anyone could look up and browse! The content from these pages still did not show anything inappropriate. If you can avoid sending your child here please do.not chose any other school as they are overwhelmed and understaffed. If you are a seasoned para or teacher please help them. They have the lowest test scores for a reason. Paras and TA are made to spend only 15 minutes with each student and go from room to room throughout the day, they are paid the lowest income BUT for some reason they are the front line for when a child is disruptive, behaving violently which happens in most classrooms. I'd say there are 3 to 4 students in each room that picked up tables to slam down or behaved as if they needed to be restrained, I saw many emotional breakdowns and regret any time I spent there or allowed my child to be present.
