This has been one of the worst school experiences I have had with my children, especially with the special education program. I am extremely disappointed with how the IEP process has been handled. In my experience, the IEP was poorly written, important information was not clearly explained during meetings, and the services and accommodations written in the IEP were not consistently followed.Parents of children with special needs should be fully informed about their child’s rights, services, goals, and progress. Unfortunately, I often felt that I had to ask questions and push for information instead of the school communicating openly with me.My biggest concern is that children in special education should be receiving meaningful education and support—not simply being supervised throughout the school day. I did not see the educational progress or consistent implementation of the IEP that I expected for my child.I was also very disappointed with the communication and follow-up from the special education staff, school psychologist, and administration. During meetings, I often felt that my concerns were dismissed or that I was given information that did not match what was actually happening.I strongly encourage parents of children with special needs to carefully read every part of their child’s IEP, ask questions, document concerns, and make sure the services listed in the IEP are actually being provided. Based on my family’s experience, I cannot recommend this school’s special education program.
