I feel compelled to share my deeply disappointing experience with Big Bay de Noc in the hope that it might help prospective students and parents make informed decisions. I spent a significant amount of time at this institution, and what should have been a period of growth and discovery turned into a frustrating, disillusioning ordeal.Classrooms are poorly ventilated, and some suffer from malfunctioning electrical outlets. The staff constantly block nearly any page opened on one of the school provided Chromebook, and internet access is sporadic at best.Perhaps the most troubling aspect of the school is the way students are treated. There is a clear and persistent bias shown by certain teachers and administrative staff. Favoritism is rampant — some students are granted leniency and opportunities while others are harshly punished or neglected, often based on arbitrary or discriminatory criteria such as whos freinds with who.Discipline is enforced inconsistently and often unfairly. Often times students are humiliated for minor infractions.I strongly advise anyone considering this institution to look elsewhere. A school should be a place of opportunity, not a source of humiliation and disillusionment. Unfortunately, this one falls devastatingly short.
