3/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageWe joined Naval Avenue this year with 2 of our kids and have had a great experience. Teachers who are engaged and love what they do, very good at communicating. They have specialists to assist those who need extra help and have worked really hard at bringing the pandemic kids up to the grade level with small work groups and individual instruction. I think it is important to note that parent involvement is crucial to a better school experience, you get out what you put into it. We collaborate with the teachers to work on each of our kids challenges and opportunities and see vast improvement in their academic and social/emotional skills. As soon as a bully issue arose, we spoke with the teacher who not only dealt with the individual student, but also did an entire unit for the class on standby bullying and how it affects people too. I was impressed and learned the bully apologized to my kid and they have been friends since. We were given an opportunity to move our kids and have decided we like where they are and the support from this school has been great.Parent Review2y ago10 Reviews - Mountain View Middle School

"Yes the dog park is a nice place to take your dog. It is local in the neighborhood and maintained by the HOA"

"This neighborhood is a weird mix of nice 60’s and 70’s homes and a bunch of older duplexes. We only have interaction with our four closets neighbors but definitely look after each others properties. Best event is when we host our Christmas party every few years. "

"Near a grade school, surrounded by a greenbelt, close to shopping, neighbors are a range of ages and friendly, the HOA is helpful rather than restrictive and only $80 a year."

"It’s not a good area of town. Lots of foot traffic since grocer is at the end and food on the other. Would not recommend for families period. The schools aren’t good either "

"It’s a good quiet area. A lot of stores in a 15 min drive. It seems like a nice quiet area for the most part besides the usual and common occasions. "

"Bremerton has its own brand of charm. For a Navy town there’s a lot of Naval influence here. It’s a small city with great location. Although some parts are seedy, Bremerton has history, some beautiful scenery and forested areas all which make it distinct from similar places."

"I use Kitsap Access for my main source of transportation. which is door to door service for seniors and disabled commutes if qualified. Snow plows come and clear the roads after the main roads are cleared and maintained. Easy access to multiple grocery and shopping stores. "

"I drive the opposite way of traffic to work every morning. If you work in Bremerton, parking is kind of terrible. So most people either use public transportation, walk/bike, or some combination to avoid having to deal with parking and the traffic."

"My neighborhood hosts a wonderful seasonal farmers market in the evergreen park at 4pm on thursdays. Additionally the park occasionally becomes home to some community festivals. There are some amazing artists that call this neighborhood home. Some show their talent by growing beautiful gardens and others hand paint flowing murals on their buildings. "
