Dixon High School in North Carolina has ongoing problems with hygiene, bullying, and discrimination. The school has rat infestations, filthy restrooms, and overall poor maintenance. Additionally, there are persistent issues of racism, colorism, and bullying, with both students and some staff members contributing to a hostile environment. Despite complaints, the administration fails to take meaningful action, leaving students and parents frustrated. Urgent improvements are needed to ensure a safe and inclusive school environment.

My child is in fifth grade and his teacher is disorganized, vague, unhelpful, and lazy. She comes off cold and unwelcoming and generally is not well liked by students. The first time I met her she almost broke my hand squeezing it so hard. She attempts to display a weird sense of control and I do not feel comfortable leaving my child alone with her. I do not recommend this school. Sending out messages/instruction at 9:15pm is outrageous and unprofessional. I have screenshots of all of her instances. 100% glad my child will not be attending DES next year. It’s been more harmful than helpful.Special education is also a joke, they do not care about your child and will try to take away beneficial services. They do not have enough time/experience to try and rediagnose children who were already previously diagnosed by actual doctors and pediatricians.

this school is so horrible. There’s so much racism, homophobia, hate, bullying etc. if you’re slightly different you’ll get bullied. There was multiple attempted STABBINGS and death threats this year. The school cop does nothing about it, there’s even a viral video of a mom talking to him and him saying it’s not his responsibility to protect the students. I was a student this year and I’m so happy I’m moving schools. Teachers were horrible, said to not email them, didn’t want us to ask about missing assignments etc, barely taught us, and were bullies themselves. The teachers obviously had favorites and any other students they would target. kids were saying slurs 24/7, including the n word. There was a 6th grade student who got inappropriate photos of herself leaked along with videos of her doing bad things.. if you go to the school never have your air drop on.
