1/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageIf your child has an IEP, be very cautious. This school is a 3rd Superintendent since my child enrolled, Lacks a permanent special education teacher - just a revolving door and only 251$ spent on Sped Education for FY 2025.. AND THEY HAD A SIGNIFICANT INCREASE WITH STUDENTS NEEDING SPED EE SERVICES. this school for several years and has made no progress. In fact, my child has regressed since her enrollment in 2023 and 9th grade 3 years ago. The administration does not provide required quarterly progress reports on time Some reports are months overdue and no progress has been monitored. When I request educational records as an accustrial parent the superintendent has told me that I'm not a parent and he refuses to provide any information to I've discovered they created multiple versions of the same progress reports showing different data - how is that possible if they're actually tracking progress? Most concerning: I was never notified about IEP meetings. The school held meetings and made major decisions about my child's education without informing me. When I discovered this and asked for records, the administration claimed I needed a court order to access my own child's educational information. That's not how special education law works. There's no evidence my child received specialized instruction during an entire school year - no service logs, no progress monitoring, nothing. My child essentially lost a year of education. When I try to advocate, I'm told I don't have the right to know or I'm given false information about reporting timelines. If you have a child with disabilities, document everything. Request all IEP documents in writing. Attend every meeting. Check if your child is actually receiving the services listed in their IEP. Don't assume the school is following the law just because they're supposed to. the fact that the superintendent especially thinks that he can go above the law and not follow policy and procedures from ADE. parents do your background of the schools before you enroll your child is all I'm saying and attend the monthly board meetings!!Parent Review2mo ago2 Reviews - Wellton Elementary School

6/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageThis school wanted to expell my child with IEP in place. They seemed eager to remove her from the school. Students with learning disabilities shouldn't have to travel in a bus for Services 20 miles each way...Parent Review9mo ago5 Reviews - Check out schools near 9 E.

"Easy commute freeway close. Close to stores and a short 20 minutes to downtown. The foothills has always been a desired area to live rents are a little higher than downtown because it is a nicer area to live in . Tons of snowbirds in the winter but that’s anywhere in Yuma "

"my neighborhood is alright if you're on the straight and narrow. I'm sure if a person were using or selling illegal drugs in my neighborhood then it'd cause you a lot of drama. I'm pretty sure there's at least one on every block. I have been clean for years but it makes me cringe when I see someone who looks messed up. it's like I want better for the person. other than all of that, this is a pretty quiet neighborhood."
