About this House

Location.
New England gambrel cape home is in one of Madison's most desirable neighborhoods, Woodgate. With only nine homes on the Crestview Drive cul-de-sac, this is the original home that gave the street its name in 1984. Each morning this home enjoys the the first view of the sunrise over the crest of tree tops from the Hammonasset river less than a mile away. This home is one of few that is a short walk to Brown and Ryerson Schools via private path at the end of the cul de sac.
Set on 1.1 acre hill, 9 Crestview is bordered by stone walls, light woods, custom wooden light posts with Nantucket onion lanterns and a white gate. A new stone walkway leads to front stairs of weathered silver Ipe wood. Located 4.5 miles from downtown Madison and beaches this home’s first floor 2009 complete renovation presents as an open classic beach cottage. Warmth comes from wood floors, a painted white brick fireplace, built-ins and wainscoting throughout. East facing, mature trees and a whole house fan keeps the home cool during the summer months. The finished basement is great additional face and has room for an n home theater and workout equipment. The kitchen is appointed with cherry cabinets, black granite and stainless appliances. A 20 x 20 three season screen porch opens to a 10 x 20 sun deck made from Ipe wood which steps off to a brick patio, garden and outdoor shower ready for afternoon sun sets. Both full baths were remodeled in 2007. In 2009 a new half bath and slate floor mud room with a separate laundry room was installed. A new furnace was installed in 2013, new windows in 2011. A new roof in 2010 included a complete tear off and the installation of a ridge vent.
