About this House

This renovated and furnished studio has a Murphy bed that folds away neatly allowing the room to turn from bedroom to home office or workout room or home theater in mere seconds.

This studio room is located in an apartment on the first floor of a modest, quiet residential apartment building in the historic Weequahic section of Newark, NJ. This unit is updated but the building is not updated, though it is well maintained. The studio has the following amenities: 1) fast and unlimited Optimum WIFI; 2) Amazon TV 3) laundry room directly across hallway; 4) fully furnished kitchenette with refrigerator, stove, oven, microwave oven, hot water kettle, pots, utensils, and silverware; 5) air conditioner and heating induction unit (ductless mini splits) 6) comfortable queen sized bed with soft sheets, comforters, and ample pillows. 7) SMART projector for casting and streaming with Google Chromecast.

All furniture included. Utilities are included, up to $150.

Guest(s) are also supplied with bed linens, duvet, and fresh towels upon lease signing.

There are supermarkets, restaurants, banks and other stores nearby (within 5 minutes there is a good selection and within ten minutes there is an excellent selection)

This studio is perfect for local workers, nurses, flight attendants, graduate students, postdocs, residents relocating to the area who are comfortable with quiet hours after 10pm and respectful of the work schedules of others living across the corridor in the condo (other working professionals). It is 300 sq ft so we recognize this is a transitional space for most people!

3-12 month leases available. 1350 for 6 months.

If interested, PLEASE RESPOND WITH a short note about move in date and brief introduction with information about yourself and what you're looking for (please include lease length). Do not ask if this unit is available, if it is listed, it is available.

3 months lease - 1500/month
6 months lease - 1350/month
12 months lease - 1200/month

More about the unit:

The address is 19 Lyons Avenue Newark NJ 07112. This is located steps away from the 37 bus to EWR and 107 bus to NYC. We are also really close to the 59, 66, 39, and 99 New Jersey Transit bus stops and major highways.

It is a quiet building with a mix of working professionals, young couples and families, and retirees who are lovely. This unit was completely updated in 2019. The building is not updated but it is well cared for by the on-site super. We like to be clear about this fact because if you are looking for a luxury building, this is not it.

If you are familiar with Newark and/or how to navigate urban areas, you will feel comfortable in this section of the Weequahic neighborhood. We are a half block from one of Newark's most beautiful parks.

Our ideal candidate is an easy-going single working professional or student who has a history of being a great tenant/airbnb guest. This studio is completely self-sufficient. This means the tenant has their own small kitchen with stove/oven and refrigerator and their own bathroom with shower stall and closet. The queen-sized bed can be lifted up so that during the daytime, the studio room can be converted easily into an office, workout studio, entertainment lounge, etc etc. This studio is located across the hall from another guest suite where another person will be staying. The only thing shared is the corridor to enter the respective units (ie a shared hallway). Please note that while both units are completely separate, because of the proximity, we ask both tenants to be mindful of noise levels after 10pm.

First showing is Wednesday, January 10th after 5:30pm. Please email with your interest dates/short introduction to receive code/access.

Owner pays utilities, up to $150/monthly for PSEG. Unlimited Wiifi is included at 300 Mbps.
