"Great place until your kids are about 5 years old and then get them our of West Hollywood and give them a back yard and safer streets to play"
  • Augie Martinez
"I wish we had “real commute” streets underground so it lessons the traffic here and I live on Crescent Heights between Sunset and Santa Monica. It is so loud here and traffic here speed through here like crazy. I don’t know why there aren’t any cops secretly hiding out to bust some of these speeders. Crescent heights is a very fast and dangerous street to enjoy even for a walk, speeders have an advantage. "
  • caryn West
"City security and planning events , block street fairs, kid programs at Plummer PArk, senior programs at all the parks"
  • Eurideeaav
"I’m not personally involved in anything around the area, even though it is a touristy area a lot of people around here"
  • Eurideeaav
"People need to communicate more in the area with each other, and it will help with cutting down on the crime. West Hollywood has security walking in the streets helping keep the crime down. "
  • Gavinmyers13
"Plummer park is perfect for dog owners. Hopefully soon there is a dedicated dog area within the park."
  • Elizabeth Mour
"Very dog friendly neighborhood! The city provides two doggy waste areas with free poop bags making it convenient to clean up "
  • Greg Klein
"It’s important to keep an eye on your kids if they’re outside because there’s a lot of traffic in the area "
  • Rocochapin
"Very dog friendly, many clean parks, outdoor dining, vets and stores nearby. More dogs in the neighborhood than kids. "
  • Gregory.fullerton
"It’s very dog friendly with a dog park in multiple areas. Neighbors are constantly walking their dogs around d the area and willing to look at your animals."
  • Trulia User
"I’ve lived in this neighborhood for three years and love it. People here have been very friendly & I feel safe to walk extensively in all directions. All of west LA is fantastic & I realize how lucky I am to own a home here."
  • Trulia User
"Not very involved in the local community. Farmers market on the weekends is most of what I participate in"
  • Trulia User
"Traffic gets crazy on Sunset Boulevard but it’s a price I’m willing to pay to be in this neighborhood. I don’t use transportation but I think the area is well connected with the bus system. "
  • Trulia User
"I found the hills to be a great alternative to city street to commute all over town. I don’t live in the hills currently, but I still use them during rush hour to avoid traffic. "
  • Trulia User
"All my closest neighbors have dogs and there have never been any issues. It’s great for hiking with a dog but there are no parks and most of the side streets don’t have sidewalks. "
  • Trulia User
"There is a dog park nearby and I see a lot of dogs in the area. Lots of busy streets don’t give your dog lot of room to roam. "
  • Trulia User
"Like — everyone has dogs, many parks Dislike — winding roads, need to drive everywhere, less grassy areas more cement "
  • Trulia User
"Lack of open space for dog owners. People tend not to pick up after their dogs in this neighborhood. "
  • Trulia User
"Standard commute via public transportation as with any other major metropolitan city though not as comprehensive."
  • Trulia User
"West Hollywood is very inclusive and most events take place on the west end of town where most bars are located."
  • Trulia User
"Public transit is very convenient for my commute however I previously owned a car and the commute was long for a short distance."
  • Trulia User
"Halloween parade Farmers market Trader Joe’s Melrose flea market Fair fax Mystery pier books The grove "

  • Nam.ly168
"It’s about 30 minutes to downtown LA. Traffic can be bad on some days. The area has no direct access to freeways."
  • Kellan
"Easily walkable to many amenities. Restaurants, groceries, movies, bars, small parks. Low crime and pretty quiet for being in the center of things."
  • Lauren
"I don’t drive so need to be near West Hollywood elementary for my kid. Walking or cheap ubers or rides with friends is how I roll. "
  • Devin.interventionink
"Very friendly neighborhood and very safe place to live. Plummer park is always very busy with lots of things to do and great for walking your dog. "
  • Tyler D. .
"This is one of the best possible neighborhoods to live and raise a family. Neighborhoods simply do not get better - though the spaciousness can be interpreted as uninvolved or unknown neighbors. "
  • Jaysenvan
"Close to work on Sunset and Harper - it’s super nice to live here if you don’t have to drive - driving in LA has become almost unbearable"
  • Alicia C.
"West Hollywood Halloween parade!!!!! Also, I have multiple grocery stores within walking distance of me. I can walk to my gym. And I feel safe at anytime walking in my neighborhood. "
  • Justin S.
"I don’t see many children in West Hollywood. I don’t think there is a very high number of families with children here. "
  • Erick and Julie
"I've lived here for 10 yrs and while it's perfectly located to everything you can think of, the traffic to get in and out has just tripled over the years. what used to take 35 minutes is now taking me 55 min one way"
  • Tui S.
"At home it’s quiet and private only a couple blocks away it is vibrant and buzzy. Best of both worlds. "
  • Vintageetpapier
"Parents should teach their kids some manners. Los Angeles people are super rude.. They're not cordial that's so sad.. they walk by you like if you're dirt. Teach your kids to be humble and nice. seriously!"
  • AB E.
"Not really a family area. Lots of single renters live in West Hollywood, though there are some houses nestled in side streets."
