    The property includes 110 acres with 5 acres open mowed land. Elevation ranges from 3000 to 3840 ft. Primarily Southern exposure but good views in all directions and numerous building sights. Located at 35.90N, -82.50W about 25 miles North of Asheville via I-26 and 7 mi NNW of Mars Hill NC. The Wolf Laurel golf and ski resort is 5 mi away. Adjacent properties are mostly large wooded tracts of 125, 60, 20, and 30 acres. The adjacent 125 acre property shares a 2000 foot boundary and is also for sale.

    There are numerous underground springs on the property and three year round streams that converge in the bottom third of the land. Several natural springs are above 3500 feet elevation. One of these high springs is capped with modern methods into a 500 gallon reservoir piped to a single tap above the pond with 35 psi of pressure. A 1/5 acre pond with average depth of 8 feet is stocked with 150 fish of four species. The pond is self sustaining and entirely spring fed from within the property boundaries.

    Two modern buildings are located in an open meadow at 3400 feet elevation. A 20x40 metal building on a steel reinforced concrete pad with 12x12 overhead door and a 12x12 wooden tool building. No electricity to either building but electricity is immediately available in the front 5 acres with 400 feet frontage on a paved state road.

    The open level pasture at the entrance to the property includes an unused lined well and septic system. Access to the property is provided by a single gravel road of modest grade that climbs to within 100 vertical feet of one of the two high points on the property. The property is zoned residential agricultural and is a non-critical area within the Ivy River watershed.

All 4 seasons are a blessing & it makes choosing a favorite season impossible. Western Sunsets will rival any in the world! Read this list of possibilities for anyone who is interested in a second home (for any season) or a wonderful all year getaway. This cabin provides the real cabin experience, not a fabricated version. It's cozy, well heated & in a GREAT, if not THE perfect location on the mountain. It makes coming and going easy & fast by mountain living standards. You have year round access to main roads which are kept cleared & well maintained. There is little mountain traffic on Oakridge & you have a shorter drive in & out of the community than most other residents. If you play Golf, you may never find a place you like to play better than Wolf Laurel Country Club. There is little maintenance to do in an antique cabin as you do not want to compromise the integrity of the beautiful logs which are everlasting! The appliances are relatively new & water pressure is great! There is little yard maintenance due to the abundance of natural fauna. The cabin is a 5 minute drive to the Ski Resort. Mars Hill provides great Grocery Shopping @ Ingles, CVS, & the quaint & great restaurants are there, only 20 minutes away. Weaverville has other shopping & dining & is a 30 minute drive from the cabin. You are also 10 minutes from the TN/NC border & a short drive to Johnson City TN. Walking anywhere @ Wolf Laurel is an adventure in Nature. We are some of the people written about who take food & beverages to the through-hikers to meet people from ALL OVER THE WORLD on the Appalachian Trail which is a 2 mile hike from the cabin.
