My child had an extremely difficult school year. To begin with, my child is neurodiverse and experienced ongoing bullying throughout the year, culminating in an incident involving physical assault.As a parent, I made every effort to communicate with teachers, administrators, and school staff regarding my concerns. Unfortunately, my attempts were often met with little to no action, and at times my communications were ignored altogether. Despite repeated efforts to advocate for my child’s safety and well-being, I did not feel that the school responded appropriately or took meaningful steps to address the situation.Additionally, several staff members who were responsible for investigating or handling my son’s case are no longer employed at the school, leaving many of our concerns unresolved.Although the school itself is relatively new, my son did not thrive in this environment. More importantly, I do not believe the school made a sufficient effort to communicate with our family, address our concerns, or provide the level of support and protection that my child needed to feel safe and successful.
