East Canton High School is a great school with a variety of options located in an admirable facility built only four years ago. From the basic classes to both on site and off site college level courses, this school has the academics covered. And in disagreement with a previous review by another user, the teachers are not hired based on their coaching ability. In fact, the current boys basketball coach is not a teacher at East Canton at all, and many of the teachers are not and never have been coaches themselves. The school, like the town, is very small. While this tends to limit the variety of sports, there are still many options available to students. The one disadvantage of this school is its lack of funding. Currently, there is a $200 pay-to-play fee on all extra-curriculars that require transportation, no field-trips for students, and only busing for students who live outside of a 1 mile radius of the school. This problem though could easily be remedied by the township by a contribution from the citizen.
