NAGreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageWe have had such great experiences at this school until this year. We are very unhappy in this district. My child's current homeroom teacher does not respond to emails. Some of the previous teachers have been great so I feel bad leaving this review, but every teacher should communicate with parents. My child has some legitimate learning issues and I don't know where else to turn since the teacher won't respond to any questions.Parent Review1y ago2 Reviews - Lakeview Jr High School

8/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageLakeview Jr High is tough to review. The food was ROUGH, the staff were a hit or miss, the education seemed rocky. The only thing I felt came out of the school wasn’t so much the brains, but the after school activities. I’ve watched lakeview alum’s succeed HEAVILY in athletics, theatre, etc. The brains aren’t so much. The kids who really really want it succeed very well, but everyone else does okay or good. Nothing excellent I feel. Plus, the honors courses all were basically the same group of students every year. Nobody new was put in and nobody was really taken out. I did realize there was some discrimination issues, not so much amongst the staff but students. Never anything like harming each other for race or sexuality purposes but more so students judging each other for those reasons. On the topic of teachers though, it’s rocky as well. I had some extraordinary teachers but also some not so amazing ones. The english department is a little rough. The good teachers in there are amazing, but the not so good are bad. One teacher would be disrespectful towards students I felt and didn’t put their emotions and feelings first, another one was very targeting and disrespectful to me personally when going through their class. I was going through a hard time and falling behind and I was judged, me and a friend had the exact same answers and I still got a lower grade. One teacher specifically though was by far my favorite in english. She was very inclusive of everybody and respectful to students. I do want to talk about one of the math teachers who thankfully isn’t there anymore. There was many times the entire grade level ended up failing tests and we were still blamed. She didn’t teach us very well and still blamed us for that. Science wise the teachers are so amazing and are always very helpful, your child will succeed in the science portion with their help. I think district 99 isn’t the worst -the district this school does move into post-middle school- but it’s good at best. Nothing phenomenal. If you want you kid going to district 99 I would choose a different middle school personally as an alum, although much has changed since i’ve been there. It could be better now as many staff that weren’t as good are now gone. Although the money does go towards what I feel are unnecessary constructions of the school instead of the staff and academics -from an outsider eye atleast-Other Review1y ago14 Reviews - Prairieview Elementary School
