8/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageI went to Highland from kindergarten to my senior year, and I would say that my biggest criticism are the students rather than the staff. I am a first generation American, from two African parents, and from the time I was 5 years old, the students never let me forget that I wasn’t one of them. While I was being bullied in elementary school for my ethnicity, the principal and teachers turned a blind eye and even went as far as saying that “I didn’t know what racism was” and accused me for making false claims. I would advise ethnic families to enroll their students into diverse schools for the sake of their self image and mental wellness.
