I attended JGHS along with the rest of my siblings. This school is incredibly high-quality for being in such a small town, mainly because the town has a private college, which feeds the academic atmosphere in the community. Most schools in little villages really struggle with their funding. Not John Glenn. I can't remember a time they ever had trouble passing a levy. New Concord supports education! It is the only school in a thirty-mile radius to have an orchestra program. The band and choir programs are top-notch as well. There's a huge variety of clubs to choose from, lots of different sports teams, a college prep and advanced college prep course track, and the opportunity to take classes at the post-secondary level so they count toward high school and college degrees (there are several local colleges to choose from for this). The teachers are a great group of people and genuinely seem to enjoy their jobs. My only issue with JGHS is that it has a tendency to be very cliquey and a bit snooty. That set aside, the district is an awesome one, and I'm grateful for the education they gave me. I never would have wanted to go anywhere else.

School is behind the curve in how and what they teach. A lack of funding is a problem. Leadership seemed pretty set on their ways. We had to fight for our kids and education. One kid had an IEP and it was a struggle to get the “right” program.
