6/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating Averageok so, this school is just oppressing and they don’t do anything at all , I got bullied so much times in this school and the fact no one really cared is just purely guilty I don’t know why anyone would wanna go this school cause they say the n word , fighting people and much more and I feel like when I came to this school I thought it’d been ludicrously genuinely the best school I’d ever go to but no.. it’s all a ineffable menacing school cause if ur brown , black or whatever you’ll get bullied by some racist person I remember when in last semester a white guy said at least we take showers excuse me?? Have they not seen the history of India and I’m not Indian I’m south Asian but the racism especially the Indian racism is just insane and disgusting it’s moral and unprecedented and also when I called a girl ugly just because she said it to me first I was the one who got in detention but she didn’t get in detention it’s so malicious how we did wrong things whatsoever instead I got in trouble it’s just prejudice and they say don’t be sexist while theirs a lot of things and they seem not to really care about it.. anyways fellow student outOther Review2mo ago44 Reviews - Lockwood Avenue Elementary School

Staff helps parents with their needs and they help students stay safe in school. Special Ed staff has taken great care of my children and they have been a great support for them the last 3 years.Parent Review2y ago5 Reviews - John Marshall Senior High School

8/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageMy son began 9th grade at John Marshall last year, initially, things went well, but then he was bullied, and the school knew but didn't inform us. This year, he's still being bullied by the same family, and the school hasn't acted. The staff is overwhelmed, and my son's education is suffering. He's struggling because he has to worry about self-protection and can't focus in an unhealthy social environment. Recently, a student's mother even had to intervene in the courtyard.Parent Review2y ago19 Reviews - Check out schools near 847 Hyperion Ave.

"I’ve lived in this neighborhood for four years and I love it. The reservoir, all of the things to do on Sunset, all of the actual sunsets. "

"Many young families live here and kids sometimes play on a few of the off streets. It is close to the freeway, so some streets are quite busy"

"Road construction slows my commute. A 15 minute commute has become a half hour. More people could work remotely a few days a week to reduce traffic. "

"Halloween is pretty awesome. Your can see the Dodger Stadium fireworks. I mostly feel safe walking around the neighborhood while my little girl rides her bike, sometimes there are cars that drive too fast but for the most part everyone is looking out for each other. "

"Día de los muertos , sunset triangle, farmers market, walkability not sure what Else to say, I have lived here for 10 years and even though it’s a little gentrified I still love it. I know a lot of my neighbors and I love how diverse communities"

"its the perfect mix of city and community. im honestly not sure why you would live anywhere else. also, a 100 character minimum is really annoying. not sure how long you have to type to say not a lot at all that no one will read."

"There is a school not too far from the area, great dog park nearby, farmer’s market on the weekends, great restaurants, great friendly neighbors, young families with young children and pets… "

"Farmer’s Market on the weekends. Great taco trucks in the neighborhood. Not sure what other activities are happening around the area anymore. COVID changed the neighborhood considerably. Crime went up, homelessness became a huge issue, burglaries… etc."

"Great public school managed by parents . It is a progressive neighborhood with art and culture at its forefront. Not as diverse as it should be. But seeking diversity as a community. And although it has become more affluent over the last two decades there is still an element of the original character of the neighborhood. "

"There are coyotes abound, beware of them when you are put walking your dogs. Especially around the area along Apex between Fargo and Cove. But the great news for dogs is a stellar dog park down at the reservoir, with separate areas for small and large dogs. "

"People smile and say “hi” to one another. Totally different from anywhere else in Los Angeles. Everyone seems to be looking out for one another.
