Conniston middle school was the worst experience for me, i got extremely bullied and the teachers, and staff DID NOT do anything to help. they would not let me switch out of the school in NOVEMBER because it was " too late in the year " They also said they same thing with going online. i felt like i was extremely stuck in a school that DOES NOT care about your child's wellbeing, mental health, and education.

Mi hija sufrió bullying durante el tiempo que estuvo allí y, cada vez que me acercaba a las maestras o al personal para buscar ayuda, me decían que estaban manejando la situación. Sin embargo, nada cambiaba y los problemas continuaban.En muchas ocasiones, mi hija intentó acudir al personal por su cuenta, pero recibía respuestas como: “No quiero escuchar”, “Ya vienes de nuevo” o “Aprende a ignorarlos”. Considero que estas respuestas no son apropiadas para un estudiante que está buscando apoyo.Mi experiencia fue que la escuela no manejó adecuadamente la situación ni brindó el apoyo necesario. Por esa razón, no puedo recomendar esta escuela a otros padres.I do not recommend this school. My daughter experienced bullying while attending, and every time I approached the teachers or staff for help, I was told that they were handling the situation. However, nothing ever changed, and the problems continued.On many occasions, my daughter tried to seek help from staff members herself, but she was met with responses such as, “I don’t want to hear it,” “Here you come again,” or “Just learn to ignore it.” I do not believe these are appropriate responses for a student who is asking for support.In my experience, the school did not properly address the situation or provide the support my daughter needed. For that reason, I cannot recommend this school to other parents.

I noticed that there were no recent reviews of the school, so I decided I would add one. I am a Forest Hill alumni from the class of 2020. There are very few reasons why someone would actually want to go here. One bright spot in my experience was the environmental science academy. The teachers genuinely cared about what they taught and helped to prepare me for college. There were definitely outstanding teachers (like Mr. McCall and Ms. Skowron), but they are few and far between. The school is extremely overcrowded (30 students to a class at the very minimum), which meant working one-on-one with teachers was virtually impossible. The guidance counselors were generally well-meaning, but unfortunately had too many kids to know what to do with them. As some have previously mentioned, there is a great deal of favoritism towards the football team and JROTC, with little attention and funding going towards other sports, arts, and clubs. The leadership is essentially nonexistent and have no idea how to deal with students other than yelling at them and giving them lunch detentions. There was also rampant bullying that was never properly dealt with. Faculty was supposedly going to investigate rampant bullying in the band program, which (shocker!) never happened. The bullying became so bad that many members quit. I have heard similar stories across other clubs and sports. The school was poorly maintained, with over half of the bathrooms being nonfunctional throughout my four years and several lacking stall doors. The amount of issues myself and others had to deal with were not worth the AP/IB/AICE/ honors programs, which are for the most part subpar. The only thing Forest Hill is good at is fostering a culture of indifference. At least the cafeteria food was good.
