8/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageUnfortunately things have gone downhill a bit in the last couple years. Some of the best teachers have left, some of the current teachers really not up to par. Complaints to school administration are met with tepid responses. Their wonderful parent coordinator passed away last year and that leaves a gap that simply cannot be repaired, she was the glue holding many things together. Mostly white teachers with mostly BIPOC students. I would think twice about sending a neurodiverse student here too. They will continue to score well on exams because they teach aggressively for that but my kids experience of school this tear has been a disappointment. Counseling and psychology are good but not good enough to make up for the very low emotional intelligence of some of the teachers.Parent Review6mo ago34 Reviews - Is 136 Charles O Dewey

4/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageAs a recent graduate of this school, it is horrible. It wasn’t to bad in my first year but it progressively got worse, there were many fights and horrible students, the teachers like to cover up a lot things such as how our old dean strangled a child/student in our school and didn’t bring it up, if you did bring it up you got in trouble. This school likes to believe they’re very open minded but the students here say otherwise. The teachers here I can say some were alright and actually I had a close bond with a few, but others can give you a hard time. Also there was a uniform change where before students were allowed to wear any sort of pants like jeans and not be called out for but they switched up the rule during my last year which was honestly very weird considering we had already wore jeans and other sort of pants for the past 2 years. Most staff here are also super strict about phones being in yonder pouches when really I think it’s not that a big of a deal if a student just keeps their phone in their bag in case of any emergency. Clubs weren't so bad but I really just don’t recommend this school in general it wasn't good years ago and still hasn’t changed.Other Review10mo ago3 Reviews - Sunset Park High School

5/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating Averagego to a diff school if u can because u literally learn nothing for after college. there are some teachers that genuinely care about the students but some r js rlly lazy and cant teach at all. and the food here is atrocious so js bring ur own lunch. and theres some racism and fights here which is to be expected in a school like this. now if u wanna prepare urself for college and actually wanna try hard for ur academics PLEASE dont go hereStudent Review1mo ago10 Reviews - Check out schools near 845 3rd Ave.

"Greenwood is so beautiful. The only thing I hate abt here is that it’s so expensive and it’s so hard to find a place to park ur car. But if you have the money and patience to own a car and find a parking space this is the right place for you. There’s rlly good nearby schools I attended ps295 and new voices which is in the same building and I absolutely loved my time there"

"There is a nice playground. Many elementary and middle schools. That’s all. No ice cream places or toy stores in the area . It’s dirty everywhere. Some People are nice , but there are loud music and noisy in the night sometimes. "

"Green word is such a beautiful place to live. It’s not noisy might be cause of holidays but that’s it. Safe at all hours and days. Close to transportation. I live near 5th ave and always take the R or B63. But it is a hard time to find a place to park your car and it is expensive but if you have the money and have patience with finding parking then this is the right place for you. And it’s close to schools if you have kids "

"You cannot take your dog into Greenwood cemetery so I’m commenting on the person who said people don’t pick up after their dogs in the cemetery. In general, many people do not pick up after their dogs past 6th Avenue down to 4th between 15th street and 23rd. It’s a problem. We have dogs and continually pick up after people when our dogs go in an effort to keep our streets clean. "
