5/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageI feel like this school lacks communication my son is in 3rd grade and this is the first year he has struggled otherwise he has done exceedingly well in school. The admin is not kind nor helpful. I try to help as they clearly need help. But the admins uppty attitude needs some adjust. Were are here for the student right?Parent Review2y ago14 Reviews - Chatsworth Charter High School

5/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageThis isn’t the Chatsworth High school you’ve heard about from years ago! Since the magnet program and advanced studies have been emphasized, the school has become a beacon of light. Chatsworth was ranked the 23rd best high school in Los Angeles one place ahead of Sierra Canyon which cost over $35,000 a year. The list included the most prestigious high schools in Los Angeles. If they just took test results of the magnet program, they would have ranked top three and put $40,000 a year programs to shame. With the caring and supportive instructors who genuinely showed me they care about my child’s Success was refreshing. Don’t get me wrong. It is a lot of hard work and requires dedication. But the results are undeniable this program is making a difference in the students lives. If you hear the list of Ivy League schools that the graduating classes have been accepted to, you would be blown away. I look at programs like Granada hills and laugh because people don’t understand that because they are a full charter they can choose which kids tests scores to count and which not to and get great scores and ranch high BUT Chatsworth has to take the average of the whole school!!! Because the are a public LAUSD school! Let’s just call a spade a spade and call it like it is… pound for pound the biggest impact and improvement goes to Chatsworth. So proud and thankful to be a part of this amazing program!!Parent Review6mo ago24 Reviews - Christopher Columbus Middle School

4/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageThe administration of this school has no idea or no motivation to discipline students. The same disrespectful students misbehave over and over without any consequences. The teachers do not have administrative support and it’s a free-for-all every single day. There are nonexistent academic expectations and no behavioral standards enforced. Find another option…do not choose this school!Parent Review1y ago23 Reviews - Ernest Lawrence Middle School

7/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageThis school is definitely not the greatest nor most comfortable school you can send your child to. The students there are extremely disrespectful, many vocalizing racist, homophobic, or disrespectful slurs and comments. The school is also very unclean, the students don't contribute to cleaning up after themselves either. The food isn't great, though that's typical with many schools. If you are being bullied, the counselors and teachers do not help you whatsoever. I was bullied during 6th grade and I did ask for help from the counselor, my mother specifically had contacted them. They called me in and just told me to fill out a sheet, and when I had put that the situation had made me cry many times, the counselor herself told me "why are you still crying about it" in a tone that wasnt welcoming. She looked annoyed too. I consider that highly unprofessional and she didnt even do anything to help me after. Many teachers in this school are lazy and dont even know how to teach the children properly. There was one teacher who almost all the kids in that grade with her class who were failing it. Most of it wasn't even the students fault, it was the teacher's flawed way of teaching. This school has a disgusting, disrespectful, unfriendly, and overall sad atmostsphere to it and I can only feel sorry for the students attending it.Other Review6mo ago40 Reviews - Check out schools near 8316 Faust Ave.

"My community is closer to a major mall and to a good high school. The traffic to get to a major freeway could take about 15 to 20 minutes."

"West Hills a tight-knit community where a good amount of neighbors know and watch out for each other. Nobody really bothers anyone, people are more likely to help than hurt others; therefore, it is a peaceful and comfortable place to live and raise a family. "

"Everyone is friendly and keeps to themselves. No crime and it’s always been a safe neighborhood! I’m sure if there was a problem that would arise I would take care of our neighbors and I’d hope they’d do the same for me. "

"they would love the amount of dogs they would see! I think it is a big deal for pet owners to realize that a lot of people in their neighborhood also have pets, because it makes them realize that others appreciate the important and love of pets "

"you see them walking a lot around sunset there are trails that people like to take their dogs on but small dogs are in constant danger from coyotes that jump the fences regularly in the area and owls. they come down from the local mountains looking for food. larger animals are much safer here but a pack can easily take down a single large dog if desperate enough "

"My next door neighbor is a sweet little old lady. I’ve been over to her place from time to time to check up on her and help with little chores around the house. She’s very nice and I’ve never come across this at other places I’ve lived in "

"I have lived here since I was born and am now raising my young child here. It is a great area in Los Angeles to raise children. It is secluded enough to feel like you are away from the city noise and traffic, and yet only 15 minutes from some of the highest end shopping and restaurants in the area. Homes in this area are rarely on the market; most of my neighbors have lived here for at least 15 years and plan to for many more. Mostly everyone takes pride in their home in our community, and looks out for each other in the neighborhood. It has been this way since it was built in the late 1980s and continues to remain so (only with the houses being continually updated and modernized!). It is an expensive community, but proves to be well worth the investment. "

"I lived in the neighborhood of West hills I know it is a safe and good area to live. Whenever I visited my friend in West hills people were very friendly, they would reach out with a hi, how was your day? And that matters"

"There are a lot of elementary schools in the areas of west hills and Canoga Park. There are many charter and magnet schools that offer various focuses. If your home school does not suit your child’s specific needs there is plenty of opportunity to enter a lottery to get your child into a preferred school. If you are not admitted through lottery and you have to go to your home school, the schools in the area are great. There is something about going to school with your neighbors that makes a neighborhood a community it is an aspect often not considered in the search for quality education. Knowing your neighbors creates community which is a great thing for children."
