This property, originally a nineteenth-century church, is on a prime corner of Highway 13 in Port Wing, Wisconsin. This is the main road to Cornucopia, Bayfield and the Apostle Islands National Lake shore. Passersby find the historic building and gardens irresistible. The church was converted to a pottery in 1993 and living space added in 2007. The Pottery has closed and equipment removed. The kitchen, dining area, bathroom and utility room are located behind the studio and gallery area. The loft, framed by 115 year old original windows, is accessed by a spiral stairway and steps in the gallery. The loft has two bedrooms, a living area and a half bath. The design is unexpected and open. Port Wing is located on the south shore of Lake Superior, one hour from Duluth/Superior (west) and Ashland (east). The district public school, a marina, and several small businesses are in the picturesque community of 450. The property is a short walk to Lake Superior's beaches. This area of northwest Wisconsin is home to many organic vegetable, fruit and berry growers. It is also the home of a vibrant community of creative people inspired by the natural environment.
