Difficult to get a call back from Principal. Due to COVID-19 my child has participated in Distance learning. This is not a good fit for my child, but we are trying to make it work. One day I got a call from a Vice Principal to address my daughter inability to focus. We agreed that we would met the following day to further discuss with my child and teacher. Nobody was present at meeting, it was very disappointing. I’ve come to realize that a lot of children may be left behind because of a lack of equity. It’s awesome that Nyssa has a Spanish speaking principal, but more than often it’s only to address issue rather than promote growth .

This school has a variety of programs such as HOSA, SMILE, cross country, softball, baseball, track, girls and boys wrestling, girls wrestling, boys basketball, girls basketball, volleyball, and more. This school may not be the best financially but great bonds can be made and chances other schools may not give are given such as taking Algebra and Geom/Data science as an 8th grader.

After reading the previous reviews, I freel that the reviewers are disgruntled parents or former students who felt they weren't treated fairly or as they felt justly. I have a child in the school currently, and feel that they have been treated fairly, justly, and equally compared to the other students. I would ask is your child one who doesn't follow rules or feel they are entitled to do or say what they want? Whenever I have had a concern with a teacher, student, or coach the current administrators have always listened and sought ways to solve or address said concerns. Is the school/ staff perfect by all means no, but I feel they are concerned and care about each and every student that attends and wants them all to succeed in school and life. I have witnessed many teachers and staff members spend extra time and effort helping students outside of school hours with their work, projects, or interests which allow students to become the best they can. Nyssa High School expects students to be successful and continues to strive for excellence for all inside and outside the classroom.
