3/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageThis school is very unorganized. The bathrooms are absolutely repulsive they are always filthy, and the heat and air conditioning never work and it’s always uncomfortably hot or freezing and it’s like this for more than the entire school year. The 8th grade counselor is very unprofessional she always hounds students for electronics but she walks around in the cafeteria during her lunch duty with her phone in her hand and she constantly staring at it. She doesn’t look at emails and she doesn’t respond. She’s also does her cafeteria duties very poorly durning the thanksgiving lunch my friends and I were patiently waiting in the lunch line when a bunch of boys came and pushed us so far back from them play fighting we were pushed almost in the kitchen and she did not address them at all and they kept pushing us so My friends and I decided to go to a different lunch line. Keep in mind that we were already waiting in that first line for over ten minutes so when we finally got our lunch from the second lunch line we only had five minutes of lunch left so when we all finally sat down she came to our table with a trash can and we explained to her what happened and she said we have to throw our food away our barely touched food and after that she made us stay behind to clean up messes on tables my friend and I specifically didn’t create because we were in the lunch lines for the entire lunch period and she made us late to our classes. And another thing that’s a problem is girls aren’t allowed to have purses/bags during gym and we are supposed to lock them in our locker which I understand why we can’t have purses but why do the gym teachers lock the locker room when gym class starts and now we can’t have access to our purses/bags during gym throughout class especially as girls who need to access their feminine hygiene products during class if the door to the locker room is locked it’s inconvenient for girls.Student Review8mo ago24 Reviews - Loch Raven High School

4/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageWent here 2017-2021, if you are an upper level student this school is great, the teachers are super helpful if you care about school and education. I went on to get my bachelors from umd as did a lot of my class. There are some serious behavioral issues in some lower level classes that were difficult for teachers to handle. Their isn't much of a punishment system it seems but I never personally dealt with that. Sports seem prioritized despite them being pretty bad at them. "There aren’t sidewalks in the whole neighborhood so you have to walk in the street. Otherwise, drivers are on the lookout for people walking, so I feel it’s rather safe."

"There is a small park in the neighborhood with a playground. Convenient to Safeway and the local neighborhood children have a bus stop at the corner of the main road. Children and parents collectively come together to wait for the bus together. The neighborhood is walkable with access to take walks during the day and in the evening without compromising safety, The local high school has a large track and field that is used by the local neighborhood individuals for walks/jogs, soccer and football.
