4/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageIndio High School was truly an excellent place to learn and grow. Even though I didn’t attend a UC or Cal State after graduation, I felt fully prepared for college when I enrolled at a private university in Illinois. The foundation I received at Indio was strong, and a big part of that came from the teachers. Every teacher I had was dedicated, supportive, and genuinely invested in students’ success. If you came in with a good attitude and a willingness to work, they always met you halfway and pushed you to reach your potential.Indio High often gets a bad rap, but in my experience, that reputation has more to do with how Desert Sands Unified School District perceived it than with the school itself. The district tended to treat Indio as “less than” compared to La Quinta or Palm Desert, but the reality on the ground told a very different story. Indio High was a great school—full of hard-working staff, caring teachers, and students who took pride in their campus and their community. One of the strongest parts of my experience was the leadership. Mr. Ramirez, who served as principal during my time there, was an exceptional leader. He truly cared about the school, the culture, and the students. His presence made a noticeable difference, and his commitment helped shape Indio High into a place where students felt supported and motivated to succeed.I’m grateful for my time at Indio High School, and I wouldn’t trade the experience for anything. It prepared me for the next steps in life and gave me confidence in my abilities. It deserves far more credit than it gets.As Mr. Ramirez always said, “There are two kinds of people in this world: those who are Rajahs and those who wished they were.”Other Review5mo ago5 Reviews - Thomas Jefferson Middle School

1/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageThis school is actually the worst school in indio everyone here is not there to help its more like their there to hurt you. there is only 1 person I can think of that's actually there to help and its the principal but she cant help you all the time even though she tries her best. its sad that this school has done nothing but hurt me.Student Review11mo ago5 Reviews - Dr. Reynaldo J. 6/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AveragePrincipal is not happy to be in the field of education, from what I can tell. She also does not show respect for others in general. As a result, the school has issues. I have seen her speak very condescendingly to students and parents. She tries to put up a good front, but you can tell, she is not a positive person. I can only imagine what is going on behind the scenes at the school.Parent Review2y ago15 Reviews - Check out schools near 81106 Falling Leaf.

"Freedom to walk their dog, see other dog owners, and lots of space to walk the dog. I think that it allows the owners lots of space and scenery. "

"It is an open community but still quiet. Hardly any disturbances and is still isolated from busy roads. The only time this area feels very alive is when Coachella And Stagecoach festivals are occurring right in our backyards. It’s a good neighborhood to be a part of overall."

"Other than an annual yard sale there are no events. A long time ago, 10 years or more, there were community events. A nice couple would throw a Halloween party for kids, and the HOA board used to have bingo and White Elephant on holidays. "
