I believe teachers and admin are doing everything they can to make the a school positive place, but something is not working. Very little learning is happening in my child's classes (which is evidenced in the school's most recent test scores) - lots of chaos and disruption. 4/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageAs other parents noted, I'm disappointed to see Greenbrier's low Great Schools rating. It's a fantastic school with caring, supportive educators. Due to my husband's job, we were able to request admission to any Charlottesville City School. Greenbrier has such a good reputation in town that it was an easy decision even though it means 20-25 minute drive one-way to get the kids to school. 2/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageI attended this school a few years ago and it was AMAZING! All of the teachers care about their students, and the teaching techniques are unique and easy to learn. I was so prepared for middle school and knew almost everything when I entered the 8th grade. The after school program is incredible as well, it gives you a chance to explore something you maybe thought you had to interest in, and it is very organized (which I liked) and really helped shape me. I transferred to Fairfax County and it is no where as good as this school. I really wish I could go back and attend this school again. :)Other Review13y ago
