"I've lived in this town for over 4 years and love it! have never seen anything but a stable kind close knit community with clean living, safe and great place to raise a family, in town are 2 banks, fantastic library, restaurants, businesses, many community events. New in last 3 yrs future investments from man who left millions to his home town of Griswold when he passed. Largest state of the art, HUGE early child development center, new Large inside Concert venue, 1.2 Million to biggest & best Fire dept in entire county, Hospital Clinic building for medical needs, 2 gas stations, even recognized have about all needs chain store block outside town, lovingly restored & cared for Main Street, wanted to have all "in town basics" and no crime, in a town that cares about its neighbors. Important to us was kids schools in this town. (the smaller towns around, bus in and go to Griswold K-12). Great football, basketball, wrestling & band at High School where the community turns out! Beautiful houses of tree lined archetecture w front porches and clean yards. I really like that going anywhere is very easy- as IA Hwy 92 and just outside IA- 71 go through this very historical town, a right size gem that I am proud to live in! City planner and Street dept, City council, new spec home just built this yr and land lots for new homes on eastern side of town...no tourist stop here, which is what we were looking for : )"

"Halloween Christmas time lots of lights but the town workers are not the friendliest dogs run as they want cats bother your homes school is ok most people are not friendly "
  • Briannakayewolcott1995
"Sometimes people let their dogs wander, but very friendly dogs and neighbors! Couldn’t imagine a nicer neighborhood."
  • Julia M. S.
"We have no public transportation. Walking isn’t bad because of the small town but only having 2 gas stations means we usually have to drive to neighboring towns for things we need or if we want a job."
