This school district is amazing from the elementary schools right up to the high school. I love that the students are split up into wings to make the large school feel more intimate and less intimidating. Don't let the size of the school scare you, it truly doesn't feel as big as it is and the size opens up a ton of opportunity for specialized classes and clubs. There wasn't any where near this kind of opportunity at the small school where I went. The teachers are top notch, the administration is amazing, I have nothing bad to say at all!

Mr. Palmer is both an unpleasant and unsatisfactory principle. Growing up through Kettering City Schools, I (including my family) have had direct correlation with the school systems ( preschool, K-5th, middle school and high school). It is unfortunate, that Southdale (specifically) continues to have disappointing principals. However, Mr. Palmer is by far the worst out of all of them. When an issue arises, he constantly speaks over you (like you're a child) and does not allow you to converse like an adult. He is arrogant and is used to getting what he wants. No wonder so many teachers throughout the years have left; the Southdale school "spirit" is literally gone.Mr. Palmer, when we put our children in school, we are expecting the school system to not only keep our kids safe, but also look out for the best interest of all; kids, teachers, facility and guardians included. You only look out for yourself and your reputation, and that makes you worst of all. Clearly, you are a man who needs to re-learn the "PRINCIPLES" of being a principle because you, sir, are lacking in all the qualities one should have.

We could not be happier with the education that our two children received at VBMS. The teachers, the administration, and the community of parents/students were everything that you could hope for. I cannot say enough good things about this school and this school district.
