6/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageI really like this school district and I moved here for it but the primary school really needs some attention. There is a huge difference in the primary and the elementary/middle school. I'm not sure why the vast difference but the teachers/staff at the primary are overall not as friendly. I have kids in the middle and kids in primary. There is a happy feel to the middle school and a very unfriendly vibe at the primary school, although my sons kindergarten teacher Mrs. Eastman and my other son's third grade teacher, Mrs Vecellio are absolutely amazing! I miss Mr Shine. At that time it was a great school, but sadly has gone downhill after he left.Other Review9y ago3 Reviews - Ichabod Crane Senior High School

6/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageThe quality of teachers is excellent - students feel engaged and like the teachers are invested in their students’ learning. Communication is sufficient but the platforms they use are very dated and inefficient to use. That said, Bullying is a big issue. Bullying concerns are not pursued by administration. Admin telling students that to investigate would just cause drama and they couldn’t enforce any consequences for perpetrators. It affects some students’ access to education, clubs and opportunities. The local community is extremely conservative and homophobic and the school can’t curb it within their student community. If you have an lgbtq student this school is NOT a safe place for them. They will be bullied badly and feel isolated.Admin is out of touch with the digital world that kids are a part of and it affects their awareness. It’s glaring. Some teachers encourage competition between students and do not encourage inclusion by assigning partners or groups - the students are not encouraged to leave their comfort zone.Parent Review2y ago2 Reviews - Check out schools near 8 Southers Rd.

"People do not walk dogs here. There are no street lights nor sidewalks. It would be very dangerous to walk along the road, especially at night. There is no public transportation. If you live here it is necessary to own a vehicle and have a drivers license. Most of the people who live here and the local politics are very conservative although new voices are beginning to appear. There is also a drug problem in the nearby town of Philmont. "

"Honestly if you do not have enough of your own property, there does not exist any public place to walk your dogs. "

"It's eclectic and gentrified, From whaling and international trade in the 18th century, to cotton mills and brick yards in the 19th century, to cement plants in the early 20th century, industry has risen and fallen. After a long steady decline, the last 30 years in Hudson have seen a remarkable and elegant transformation, thanks in no small part to the influences of my home city, 120 miles to the south. Hudson’s current renaissance started in the ’80s when antiques dealers and artists rediscovered the area and started opening up shop. There are now dozens of antiques stores and galleries along Warren Street, all of which have attracted similarly creative retailers and residents. As diverse as the architecture is, there’s a consistency, thanks in part to the city’s original grid layout of 50- by 120-foot lots and the general uniformity of the buildings’ scale. Hudson fulfills its promise as an escape: verdant hills, roadside farmstands, hawks and eagles overhead. It’s home."

"This is a small town with, for the most part, friendly neighbors. Things are close enough that if you don't have a car, you can walk to stores, churches doctors offices & the hospital. "
