10/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageOur experience at Bethpage High School hasn't been the best. The school doesn't provide a bus for anyone who lives under 2.5 miles away from the school, which is practically the whole student body. The students who walk live on one side of town have to cross entrances for Route 135 and there are no crossing guards. The school has extremely harsh attendance policy. If a student has too many absences (and this includes illness) gets an automatic failure. The school is also unsupportive towards neurodivergent students. Getting an IEP is next to impossible even if your child has been officially diagnosed. If you manage to get an IEP it is equally hard getting the school to put in sufficient supports for your child. The responsibility was placed on much child to shape up. Much like any school you have some great teachers and then some not so great teachers. 7/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageCCS has many wonderful and not so great things. Most of the teachers are wonderful and really love teaching. The difficult part is when they rotate a 1st grade teacher to teach 5th grade, the teacher cannot adjust that the students are older and require a different more mature technique of teachingThe PTA do a a lot more than the school in reference to activities for the students. This is the sad part that the principle Mrs. D show little to no support compare the the other two elementary school which is Kramer Lane and CBS. She will come to school in sweat pants and hardly attend the PTA meeting. Other elementary principal will join/attend award ceremony given to their student by the district or town. Mrs D is always a no show and the students felt no appreciation from herBullying / misbehaving seems to be encourage by Mrs. D. Students loved to her to her office because she has candies and board games in the office when the students are sent for misbehaving.
