However, the opportunies for advanced STEM studentds are very restricted. For example, STEM students can not take 2 AP Science classes until the Senior year, and school does not participate in US Science Olimpiads. Instead of protecting children, the administration and some teachers single them out, bully them, and treat them like criminals rather than kids trying to learn and grow. There are clear issues with creating an unfair and hostile atmosphere.What’s most alarming is the lasting damage being done to students’ confidence and mental well-being. Self-esteem is being torn down instead of built up. Many parents and students are deeply frustrated and disappointed—but many parents are also afraid to speak up publicly. Behind the scenes, however, it’s a different story: families constantly talk about how much they distrust and dislike the administration and school.This is not a safe or healthy place for children.
