My experience with this school was unfortunately very disappointing. As a parent, I genuinely wanted to be involved in my son’s education and work together with his teachers and the school staff to support his academic growth. Instead, I often felt that my involvement was made unnecessarily difficult rather than welcomed.One of my biggest concerns was the way I was treated by both the teacher and other members of the staff. In my experience, the communication toward parents could be dismissive and unnecessarily rude. It did not feel like an isolated interaction, but rather a pattern in the way parents were approached. I believe parents who are making an effort to participate in their child’s education should be treated with respect and viewed as partners.I was also concerned about my son’s experience in the classroom. I have always taught him to love himself, be confident, express his personality, and be proud of who he is. I felt that when he showed that confidence and individuality in class, it was sometimes viewed negatively rather than encouraged. Children obviously need structure and boundaries, but I also believe a good elementary school should help children develop academically without suppressing the qualities that make each child unique.Ultimately, I left this school feeling mistreated and disappointed. I wanted a positive relationship with the school and wanted to be an involved father in my son’s education, but I often felt as though that involvement was treated as a problem rather than something valuable. It’s like the staff gets trained to act arrogantly superior to the parents. I sincerely hope the school works toward creating a culture where parents are treated with greater respect and where children can grow academically while still being encouraged to be confident individuals
