The lack of safety is HUGE concern!!! I myself was a student, I have two other siblings that went straight through this school, and we ALWAYS got the same treatment. Children can get away with EVERYTHING if they suck up to the school hard enough. Racism was a huge deal for me, getting harassed and DEATH THREATS for my skin color. Adults didn't do anything, always brushed it off with "we'll deal with it later". There only good thing was how educated some of the teachers were. If you had a sibling that was "outstanding" Then you would get special treatment, if your sibling was considered the opposite? Your treated like trash. Vapes, drugs, and nicotine was also (and still is) a HUGE concern. Horrible school, negative stars and ranking if I could.

I agree the 4 subject school day doesn't challenge our students enough. It in no way prepares them for the real world where multitasking and time management will be crucial in their pursuits at higher education and competitive employment. The expections of students by teachers and adminstration at this school is mediocre at best. Come on WASHINGTON County. Let's think OUTSIDE THE BOX.....above and beyond "no student left behind."

Rockland Woods Elementary School is a decent school for students that do not have learning differences. The school does create and hold interesting family-oriented gatherings for the students. The Washington County Public Schools (WCPS) as a whole is not supportive to neurotypical students that require accommodations and services to support the student to thrive in the educational setting. It is INCREDIBLY hard to even have your child evaluated for learning services and support. When you can get the school to agree to assess your child, they do the bare minimum testing, AT BEST. The actual teachers are SO HELPFUL and SUPPORTIVE; however, the teachers are not supported as well, and it prevents teachers from appropriately supporting the students. I do NOT recommend.
