Description

The house has a Pella sunroom with a tile floor off of the dining room. The sunroom has sliding glass doors at either end. Windows in the front wall overlooking the back yard were replaced in August of 2006. The full bath upstairs was renovated in September of 2006 with a new toilet, new tub and fixtures, and new tile around the tub. The toilet in the downstairs half-bath was replaced at the same time. In August of 2007 a full shower bath was added to the master bedroom, giving the home 2 full baths and 1 half bath. All of the carpeting in the LR, DR, BRs, and hallways was replaced in August 2007; vinyl flooring in kitchen, foyer, and hall bath was replaced with ceramic tile. Sliding glass doors from dining room into the sunroom were replaced at the same time. The cedar exterior of the house was restained in August of 2006, gutters and downspouts completely replaced at the same time. The yard was professionally landscaped in August 2006 with new shrubbery, brick retaining walls around the flower beds, and new sod in the front lawn. Front sidewalk was also replaced. Front door and storm door were replaced in July of 2006. The family room has a wide-plank hardwood floor, floor to ceiling brick fireplace with a raised hearth, and a custom-built bar with an inlaid marble top. Underneath is a built-in wine rack and bottle storage. Window sills are marble framed with oak. Lower basement (the 4th level) is unfinished but has been completely painted and can be used as a workshop or exercise area. The house is located about 2-1/2 miles from the Lorton VRE station, which has frequent commuter trains into the District of Columbia; parking is free. Home is convenient to the Fairfax County Parkway, Rt. I95, and is 10 minutes from the Springfield Metro station.

Neighborhood Description

The neighborhood is quiet; most of the lots are heavily wooded. Rather than bulldozing everything during original construction, the builder left most of the mature trees intact. The elementary school is within walking distance.
