"Lots of lawns and trees for shade, going to bathroom and rolling in lawn. People keep their dogs away from others so there is no aggression "
  • Vafasanchez
"My community is closer to a major mall and to a good high school. The traffic to get to a major freeway could take about 15 to 20 minutes."
  • Trulia User
"I don't commute in bus but there is to many homeless to do so. doesn't feel safe anymore. I have to travel in my car because the neighborhood changed so much, it's scary. "
  • Trulia User
"there are plenty of well lit sidewalks to use and well kept public parks to visit with your dogs.... "
  • Trulia User
"Safe, family oriented. Great during the holidays! Plenty of markets, shopping and restaurants. Great school district. "
  • Trulia User
"Dogs are welcome at all of the city parks and hike trails so its a great place if you would like to take your dog on little adventures. Just be careful of cyotes at night time this area is full of them. "
  • Trulia User
"No issues with nobody. Neighborhood is kept clean and safe for everyone to live in. No violence around and to make sure you wonโ€™t get into any problems while living there."
  • Jonesyinla
"feels safe and personal as well as family oriented and just all together a nice quiet and respectful neighborhood to live in"
  • Annee J.
"West Hills a tight-knit community where a good amount of neighbors know and watch out for each other. Nobody really bothers anyone, people are more likely to help than hurt others; therefore, it is a peaceful and comfortable place to live and raise a family. "
  • Dora A.
"It is very lose to a few parks. very neighborly and family oriented. I love walking my dog in the area and watch kids riding their bikes."
  • Jesslynne38
"Everyone is friendly and keeps to themselves. No crime and itโ€™s always been a safe neighborhood! Iโ€™m sure if there was a problem that would arise I would take care of our neighbors and Iโ€™d hope theyโ€™d do the same for me. "
  • Tannia V.
"Itโ€™s an ok neighborhood. People donโ€™t like change and I feel like itโ€™s a settle community. Very quiet clean. Not even on Halloween "
  • Uclacam

"quite safe for dog walking, bike riding and elderly. streets are clean. however coyotes and racoons are around therefore be extra cautious if you have small dogs."

  • Guvlek
"I live in the area for 35 yrs. proud of the neighborhood. Rarely I hear burglarize.i never thought of moving away from this neiborhoog"
  • Jen C.
"they would love the amount of dogs they would see! I think it is a big deal for pet owners to realize that a lot of people in their neighborhood also have pets, because it makes them realize that others appreciate the important and love of pets "
  • Myriahrnybo
"you see them walking a lot around sunset there are trails that people like to take their dogs on but small dogs are in constant danger from coyotes that jump the fences regularly in the area and owls. they come down from the local mountains looking for food. larger animals are much safer here but a pack can easily take down a single large dog if desperate enough "
  • Unspecified
"My next door neighbor is a sweet little old lady. Iโ€™ve been over to her place from time to time to check up on her and help with little chores around the house. Sheโ€™s very nice and Iโ€™ve never come across this at other places Iโ€™ve lived in "
  • Lindsey61016
"I have lived here since I was born and am now raising my young child here. It is a great area in Los Angeles to raise children. It is secluded enough to feel like you are away from the city noise and traffic, and yet only 15 minutes from some of the highest end shopping and restaurants in the area. Homes in this area are rarely on the market; most of my neighbors have lived here for at least 15 years and plan to for many more. Mostly everyone takes pride in their home in our community, and looks out for each other in the neighborhood. It has been this way since it was built in the late 1980s and continues to remain so (only with the houses being continually updated and modernized!). It is an expensive community, but proves to be well worth the investment. "
  • Theresa S.
"Itโ€™s a nice quiet place to live. Very nice neighbors and it seems safe. I would recommend living here. "
  • Flovin17319
"I lived in the neighborhood of West hills I know it is a safe and good area to live. Whenever I visited my friend in West hills people were very friendly, they would reach out with a hi, how was your day? And that matters"
  • Michelle C. R.
"There are a lot of elementary schools in the areas of west hills and Canoga Park. There are many charter and magnet schools that offer various focuses. If your home school does not suit your childโ€™s specific needs there is plenty of opportunity to enter a lottery to get your child into a preferred school. If you are not admitted through lottery and you have to go to your home school, the schools in the area are great. There is something about going to school with your neighbors that makes a neighborhood a community it is an aspect often not considered in the search for quality education. Knowing your neighbors creates community which is a great thing for children."
  • Theresa S.
"Itโ€™s a nice quiet place to live with little to no crime. Very friendly neighborhood. Good place for children and pets."
