Description

This light-filled, cozy in-law unit is available immediately. It features hardwood floors throughout, stained glass details, skylight, bathroom with full bathtub and central heat.

One wall of the living room is a sleek, modern kitchenette with full-size fridge, two-burner gas stove and microwave. In addition to the medium-sized bedroom, there is a bonus nook in the hallway that prior tenants have used as a work-from-home space, music corner or storage.

The unit has its own entrance from the street, a small private patio, and a large shared backyard. From the backyard, a private gate provides direct access into Sunset View cemetery, a perfect spot for socially-distant walks, with views of the Golden Gate Bridge, San Francisco and Marin.

This is a quiet, safe neighborhood in the hills on the El Cerrito/Kensington border. Street parking is easy. Located approx 1 mile from El Cerrito Plaza BART, Ohlone Greenway and Solano Ave.

Rent includes all utilities (electric, gas, water, garbage, laundry and wireless internet) for one person. For two people, utilities cost an additional $50 per month.

This apartment is attached to our home. We have a young child and sound does carry through the walls, so we are looking for a tenant(s) who has a similar schedule to ours -- quiet from 10 pm to 6 am. We are BIPOC- and queer-friendly. Cats welcome. Our previous tenant lived here for four years and became a good friend.

No smoking.
Cats OK, no dogs.
Fast, reliable internet is included in the rent, along with basic utilities (electric, gas, water, garbage, laundry).
This property is off market, which means it's not currently listed for sale or rent on Trulia. This may be different from what's available on other websites or public sources.

  • Anthony G.
"Easy access to BART and freeways. Close to Solano (in Albany), and Gormet Ghetto in Berkeley. Lots of trails for walking or bike riding and surrounded by good hard working families. "

"Low key, friendly, easy to get around city with close access to SF. Lots of amenities and access to Bart and 80."
  • Jon C.
"BART is convenient! There are two stations in El Cerrito. Plus transbay buses are easily accessible "
  • Courtney K.
"I don’t have a commute I work from home. Bart is available otherwise . San Pablo blvd sucks. Must use “100 characters “"
  • Ajmadrid2002
"Friendly and peaceful. Many walking paths and parks. Good neighbors. Police and dire departments close by. Good City services. "
  • Dylan A.
"Safe small town feeling. Madera school great, others average. Beautiful views from the hills. Well maintained roads. "
  • EC lover
"Easy. A brisk 10 min walk from home to the Bart station and then 33 min into the city. Walking route feels save and is flat for the most part. Only a slight uphill."
  • Kpowell927
"People walk their dogs and people rarely hold dog owners accountable for cleaning up after their dogs; so if you’re a lazy dog owner who doesn’t care about other people’s space you’re in luck. "
  • Jester S.
"There’s plenty of dog parks. A walking path. Or quite a few nice sized playgrounds. "
  • Dianegoloff
"I have lived here for decades. It has wonderful views of the Bay. It is very quiet and safe. Neighbors are friendly. There are sometimes deer and wild turkeys(!) in the street!"
  • Delia R
"El Cerrito is dog friendly. They have a small dark park under the bart tacks. El Cerrito is fairly clean & a friendly neighborhood to be in."
  • Chrstn_strns

"While we are new to this neighborhood, we’ve enjoyed getting to know our neighbors in a relatively short period of time. It’s a mix of older couples who were once the “new families” and have been here for 30+ years, and us new families just arriving. Love the safe, homey feel. "
  • Leena
"It’s beautiful, safe, and quiet. The neighbors are friendly, BART is nearby, many shops are within a few minutes drive, east access to freeway."
