      "I live near downtown. It’s about a 10 minute walk. I also live two minutes from my job so I do not have to commute far. My children also catch public transportation to school each morning so I can say the transportation runs great but it doesn’t run on Sundays. I also stay around the corner from the beach, the only thing is there is no close grocery stores so you will have to commute a little further to get to the grocery stores, but I always kept a car so I’m not sure how the buses run out here but the area I stay in I can kinda commute by walking to get the things that I need and for any entertainment."

      "All the neighborhood children play together nicely. We’re within walking distance to Lake Michigan. Everyone tries to keep their homes looking presentable. We have a lot of stores nearby, and an excellent bus system for those that don’t have cars."

      "Two Farmers’ Markets within walking distance! Outdoor concerts weekly in good weather. Lots of restaurants and interesting little shops, ice cream parlors, and antique shops. Good housing is available! Near downtown, which is growing more and more fun to visit. The only thing we need is a bank! I understand that one is coming soon."

I also enjoy the TWO Farmer’s Markets that we have every Saturday in the summer, and one of them has an indoor market during the fall and winter! I live at Harborside Commons, I am very happy here! The people who live here are very friendly but never intrusive! It is so convenient for us to be right downtown and right near the lake!"

I've lived here for 3 years and the community is clean and I feel totally safe for my children to go outside to the parks and to the store.       "Allendale is friendly neighborhood that is safe and well-kept. I can't imagine living in or raising a family in another neighborhood in town. We are a short walk to Lake Michigan and the downtown area. There are always fun things to do to keep you busy all year round. "
